No, it means lock on meaning you lock on, and free aim meaning you move your weapon around while locking on. Lock-on free aim. aiwebs_008

I agree that it's a seemingly contradictory and confusing name, especially when you first hear it, but I can't really think of anything better.

zeke, it is soooo fun to be hit while corrupted, you should try, since you are here^^

and, i just found out something bizarre: before seeing the corruption scene (on bryyo, at the beginning of the game, when you cannot be corrupted), if you auto-vent while in hypermode, after 25 seconds, you loose an entire "square" (100hp), even if you didn't use any phazon o_O

Okay, after checking again, I was wrong (or rather, the FAQ I read this in was wrong).  You don't take damage even in corrupted hypermode.  Enemy shots knock your corruption meter higher, of course; I just thought there was also HP loss.
