that's true...but to be sincere,LP is not one of my favorite bands.
I'm more into Dir en Grey,Placebo,Muse,Cradle of filth,The Prodigy,The Ting Tings,Rammstein,Lafee,Eths, and a lot more
I hate pretty much all LP songs.
MURFAURFURFA!!!!
the reason I hate LP nowadays is because whenever someone younger then you talks about it, they think they are just sooooo awesome. Like in my Spanish class, this one freshmen wouldn't shut up to his friend cause his friend didn't have any linkin park songs. to give you an idea of the convo, here:
friend A (A is for arshole):"Hey can I see your ipod?"
Friend B (B is for Being a puny little wad who doesn't stickup for himself and gives in to peer pressure to easily):"Sure here is it"
A:"Hey you don't have any linkin park songs!"
B:"Yeah I don't really liek them, their songs are to lame and emo"
A:"Dude your an ard-tard Linkin Park is AWESOME. I love heavy rock and their lyrics are great, they apply to so many things in my life"
B:"Oh really? maybe I should listen to them"
A:"No duh you should, their a great band!"

Also Friend A asked me the next day (yesterday) If I listen to Linkin Park. I told him I used to a long time ago, but now they suck. And then he went on about how awesome they are, then asked me what bands I like. I told him I like SOAD, KoRn, In flames, rage against the machine, disturbed, and a few others. Then he told me that he doesn't like heavy metal. I told him that SOAD has barley any "heavy" songs but he just ignored me and started blaring "Crawling in my skin" as loud as his Ipod headphones could while everyone was working, and he was totally thinking he was the shiz.

can't wait for him to realize what a moron he's being, I'll have a nice laugh.
I really like Meteora and a few other songs, but that's it.

Wait, so you prefer Meteora over Hybrid Theory? Meteora has some great moments (Don't Stay, Easier To Run, Figure.09), but a lot of it is pretty boring (Somewhere I Belong, Lying From You, From The Inside, Nobody's Listening, Numb).
Hybrid Theory is pure gold upon gold.

Actually, I agree with Biospark on this one, Hybrid is an amazing first album but Meteora was more musically interesting for me.

Don't be that guy who hates on younger kids. You can't act like you never ever thought something was totally cool that was already old news to someone older. What you're doing here is what I'm about to do:

Wow you like KoRn and RAtM? Geez those bands are so old they're not even cool any more, and you think you're so cool for liking them you stupid high school kid.

See? Golden rule.

Numb was boring? back in my day when LP was awesome, Numb was one of the best songs. I think we all liked it then (by we all, I'm referring to my group of cool kids, and this was back in like 6th grade), and we liked it because it was a mix of hard rock and some like emo lyrics and we thought it was totally cool cause it was 'emo'.  T.T my 6th grade self = fail.

Acheron86:
I got through most of my middle school hating on the younger kids.

And just to point out, at my high school KoRn is for some reason 'cool' amongst the juniors (seniors now? I cant tell the difference anymore).

I could have made a rant about how un-cool metroid is/was, but then I'd be pretty much dissing almost everyone here.

Forgot to mention, I'm not hating on them for liking Linkin Park. I like Korn and RAtM not to impress the older people, but because I personally like the beats. I hate it when the freshmen just listen to linkin park to try and impress us older folk. I guess I should have made that more clear in my older posts =\
I think most of the "few other songs" were from hybrid theory.

Also iiiiiiiii I assumed from your posts that you were in 6th grade.

As someone who's done with high school, let me say: there is nothing cooler than kids who look up to you and want to impress you. It is an awesome and beautiful opportunity to be a good influence in someone's life and you should really relish it. Realize those kids really think you're cool and they want you to like them. It would make their day if you so much as said "hi" some time.

I wish I'd been nicer to the young dudes and ladies in high school.

Haha, I don't think that really happens, at least in my experience.

Dunno, I think high schools greatly vary with time and space.

Yeah you're probably right. My high school, lotsa kids looked up to our class when we were juniors/seniors, and I was always too awkward and shy and self-absorbed to appreciate that. Now I'm back there, tutoring kids while I'm home for a semester, go figure.

Really? Maybe you're not quite old enough to experience it (or perhaps you won't experience it at all), but I definitely know what Acheron's talking about, having been on both the looking–up–to and being–looked–up–to ends.

Sorry but that's really cheesy =P

The thing is, it's not like they are looking up to us, it's more like they are just trying to be more then a 'face in the crowd' by pretending to be something they aren't, which irritates me.

I remember back in like 4th and 5th grade the younger kids would look up to us, and I always made friends with the kids that were younger then me. all through 4th and 5th grade I hung out with kids at least one grade lower then me. I only had two friends from my grade (one of them just so happen to be the one that introduced me to metroid). So when I hit 6th grade, I was instantly labled as the loner. I quickly became friends with 2 or 3 nerds, who introduced me to the awesome powers of MMORPGs and 'forums' (and also runescape).

6th grade was awesome I gotta say, going to PE, going to math, then going to break and heading STRAIGHT for the computer room to quickly grab one of the 3 computers that could run runescape, then staying there with my friends and eating while playing runescape.

I'm sad to say that runescape did kinda overwhelm my social life back then, but it also kinda helped it. I was safe in the computer room (this one bully named david would always kick me or throw me against hte wall everytime I walked by, and <CLASSIFIED> I'm not talking about Avis, I'm talking about the David in our english class). In 7th grade I switched schools (to a Christian school) and things were MUCH different. there was no need to seek refuge in a computer room (and luckily at my new school, my new friends weren't as nerdy, but they were.... odd <.<). The freinds I made in that school are the ones that I've had the longest. For some reason one fo the nerds that would hang out with me in 6th grade now HATES me (FOR NO REASON!). The nerds I used to hang out with have evolved, most of them are WoW nerds now, but two or three of them are just decent normal good computer geeks. The friends from 7th grade are still the same (I guess) and I love it.

Holy a little bit of text? sorry I kinda got into writing a min-biography  :(

PS my best memory of 6th grade is sitting in front of the computer, eating mandarin oranges and peanut butter jelly sandwiches while playing runescape.
