MURFAURFURFA!!!!
Okay so I got bored doing my homework, and a linkin park song came on. I was thinking to myself: "linkin... park. link...in... park. Link in a park!"

so I came up with this little drawing of the linkin park logo, chopped up so that it says Link In Park, also with a pic of link in a park

I didn't realize until I was finished that the one kid looks like hes looking at link, awesome coincidence.

Speaking of Linkin Park: their latest album really blows.

What I've Done was the only good song in the whole album (IMO).

What I really hate, is the freshmen think they are totally BA (Bad ass for those that don't know) because they listen to 'hard-rock'. I had a freshmen ask me in math if I liked Linkin Park. I told him I used to like it, and he asked me if I like metal. I said I do and he was like "Well then, why don't you like Linkin Park? They're metal!" and I just couldn't help but to laugh.

Linkin Park is some mutant cross bread between punk rock, rap, techno (depending on the song) and MAYBE BORDER LINE hard rock.

For the record, System of a down (<3), In flames, Lostprophets, disturbed, slipknot (a few others I'm forgetting) > linkin park > country.

So wait, you're saying Linkin Park isn't hard rock? Their last album not so much (but certainly around five songs or so), but their first two are definitely hard rock, with a good bit of hip–hop mixed in. That formula is what made Hybrid Theory and Meteora so good; Minutes To Midnight has a lot of softer stuff + mindless, grating screaming that just doesn't really work. Bennington's voice has gotten higher, and I find it way more annoying now. Still, I like maybe four of MTM's tracks.
Also, I've never heard any techno in a Linkin Park song, and I don't think you could call anything they do 'punk rock'.

But man, who cares what someone thinks about a band? If that guy thinks a certain band is really bad ass and likes listening to them, that's cool; so be it.

no no, hard rock and metal are two different things. Yes Linkin Park definitively had hard rock back then, but I was talking that their new album barley had hard rock, and more of just some hip-hopy stuff.

when I said I laughed at the kid was because I was laughing that he called Linkin Park metal.

this, my friend is kick-arse metal:

Also, make sure not to confuse metal with thrash-metal (a.k.a. screamo) such as unearth.

Actually categorization could be pretty important in deciding if you're gonna like something before you buy it. You can tell me madden 09 is the best football game so far and I'm not really gonna care because I'm not into team sports video games in the first place.

Tiger 09 on the other hand is pretty interesting, but I still prefer good platformers or action/adventures.

Wait wait wait, so now you're saying thrash metal is the same thing as "screamo"? Thrash metal is probably one of the most defined categories of metal, unlike black/death metal (what the hell is the difference?): Metallica is a thrash metal band. Any band that similar to Metallica is a thrash metal band. Metallica sounds nothing like today's "screamo" bands.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Metallica was a thrash metal band, then St. Anger happened and they became a shitty band.

nonono, I worded that wrong, I probably shouldn't have used a.k.a., but instead used "or". I wasn't thinking at the time (like most of the time).

heres a better version:
Make sure not to confuse normal metal with stuff like thrash-metal, or scremo (such as unearth).

They have way to many categories for metal. Thrash metal, death metal, dark metal, Screamo, pump-up metal (ok I just made that one up, but it should be a category), etc

I like Bleed It Out, too, but it could have been so much better. It lacks a heavy, rocking chorus (or even verse), so after listening to it a few times, you realize the song ends exactly how it started and goes absolutely nowhere— pretty boring as a whole, but it's at least catchy.
