That's actually pretty good considering it looks so...strange.... I'm gonna have to say >>>>>.

It kind of seems as though some parts look so contrastingly sharper and nearby points are so fuzzy, and it looks as though the visor is from Echoes instead of Super, but other than that, it's great. It took me a minute to figure out that that is indeed MB in the bottom right. Those are my main gripes about it, as the rest can probably be summed up to a certain style you use, mainly judging by the eyes. They kind of look odd on Draygon there. Maybe those could use more bloodshotting or something. He had some crazy eye movement going on in the game if you look closely.

Really neat-- I like your style.

Whoa. That looks great. It's cool that it goes from sharp to fuzzy to sharp again. Ridley is the most impressive. Great attention to detail. Samus looks kind of squished though... But whatever. Great job.

Thanks for the honest comment also it goes to show you looked very well at some of the errors on this picture, I lowered the resolution on this picture anyway since the original jpeg file was over 900kb and I thought it may slow some computers down.

Thanks again for the comment I will probaly stick to my painting style than trying to do digital art like this. :)

This is why we can't have nice things.

I disagree. You completely skipped over almost all the comments validating those posts. Just because people in this community like it, doesn't mean it doesn't belong here and our points aren't valid. Even Ark's reply had some kind of valuable feedback (although the briefness only let it go just past the line). Indeed this forum is supposed to provide more than a ranking, but until that's all that is given, I see no reason to see no reason here.

This is not ConceptArt or anything like that. The ARS was established here a very long time ago and a lot of people just merely post that; it's almost expected to happen at least a few times in an art topic. Some people will always give valuable crit, while others just rate it.

Wait, what?

I couldn't care less about whether your post is large or small or has arrows or what not.

It's just that...y'all call out folks on their grammar and posting habits and fan games and poetry and so on here (which is certainly warranted), but as soon as artwork is involved, the punches are pullllled...  A silly double standard.

Sure, this isn't ConceptArt...of course.  Doesn't mean you should respond to artwork with comments that pretty much break down to DeviantArt-y pats on the back.  You do no service to artist.

Did you even read my post? I looked for every possible grievance I could find in those couple minutes. Is there much more about the painting that you believe to be "incorrect"? Personally, I don't believe I'm any harder in other areas unless there's reason to be. There are a couple things that urk other members that they just can't let go, but I at least try to make my posts look encouraging if I can in most situations, regardless of the section of the forum. Although I do admit, I tend to post less on this forum, that doesn't necessarily mean I have no real opinions. If you had said that after one of Nate's posts in Canton's little art corner, then I may have supported you, but unfortunately, it isn't. This is just preposterous.

Other than that, do you have anything to add? Or do you simply feel it deserves no praise?

EDIT: Just discovered the strangeness of the right arm there. It almost looks unfinished or something, but I can see a charging ice beam.

Yes, of course.  But despite whatever criticisms you have for the piece, you said that it was great and gave it a 5 out of 5.

Eh...whatever...it's not really worth it.  I'm just going to step out, being that this isn't the place to go on a cliched tirade of tearing 99% of DeviantArt a new one.  Apologies.

Don't see how this is any different than posting images as a response to everything. ;P

.... I'm glad the arguement seems to have died down.

I'm still happy even though it took me a long time for me to do this that Jagger G told me some of the errors. (I knew draygon had bloodshot eyes anyway I didn't really think it would suit it)

The Samus is great -- very cool looking.  The others are fine, but seemed crammed in too much.  It'd be nice to have a wider image with a little more space between the characters in the work.

That might be a more stylistic concern. Maybe it could be like a 3D type image, Samus standing on a platform facing all the bosses through portal-collages or something. That's a lot more complex, though.

Yeah especialy for me it would I've never had experience with 3D art work before I'm only used to traditional and digital artwork to.

I did think of doing flash animations after I leanered how to use it but my computer is pretty crapy lately so I don't bother with that (Reason why I say this cause once I was thinking of doing a metroid animation once).

In my experience, nine out of ten people who post art and ask for feedback throw hissy fits when there's not at least some praise and encouragement included in the post.  Not wishing to find out the hard way that a new poster is one of those nine, I usually don't want to venture out there with my honest commentary only to have it be a waste of time and incite a tantrum.  (The tenth person is Saber, who has received plenty of blunt critique from me over the years; check some of his own threads here.)  I imagine other respondents often feel similarly about potentially starting a flamewar but nevertheless want to be encouraging and friendly, and are less critical than I am anyway.

(Note that none of this at all is directed at or is about the starter of this particular thread; I've had very little online time lately and haven't looked at the drawing much.)

I just say if I like a drawing or not, then rate it. Nothing more to it than that for me; I'm not big on giving much crit, as I know next to nothing about art.
New metroid related work this was done for a friend of mine I know in reality he asked me to draw this for him.

Is that what really happens when you get 100% completion in Metroid Prime?
