Somebody got a hold of your account and starting spamming up the joint. You'll probably really want to figure out how that happened before we give you your account back.
Dude, it was pretty insane around here when your account was hacked. I somehow managed to check every spam topic that was created. They were coming like 5 a minute, and it lasted for what... an hour ? I didn't stay for all of it, but yeah.
And the whole "It's Spam Time" topic was only the first of like 7 different things said. I won't quote... but yeah. Hit every board at least once.
I"m one of those people that are attracted to new topics. Every time I saw blue, I was there. The ones I missed were probably because I was in the chat section. But when I checked back with the forum... yeah. I only quit because the topics were seriously repeated.
Maybe I over-exaggerated. I checked MOST of the spam topics created.
nn: I highly doubt that. Grenola and I were deleting much, much more than five a minute at various points.
PiccoloCube: Yes, we know, and he hopefully s_e knows as well. We don't need you to repeat it. The point of the mods posting here was to let users know what's going on so they won't come here and post for no reason.
Anyway, this account will remain deactivated until someone does a good job of convincing nate that he's the real silent echo.
Very simply, get the real S_E to upload a specific - preferablly small - file to the zeromission.co.uk server which only the real S_E has access too. And get him to provide that active link to Nate via PM.
couldnt you guys have just IP banned the perpetrator?
if i did that, and the person playing with his account were on the same ip as him, then he would have a hard time getting back on the forum to let me know that he's back.
Quote from Banjonator:
Take a look at the "Posted"-date in the screenshot... I don't think that's normal, is it?
looks like he customized his date string in his profile.
Well, unless the password for M2k2's forum and my server are the same, the last modified date of that pic is: 09-Aug-2006 17:45 meaning that it was uploaded today. But hey, it's not my call. Just thought I'd point that out. But that serial spammer comment doesn't sound right mind... :|
Why would one as you say "blow a fuse", start spamming, and then ask why your account was de-activated. Just doesn't sound right, and that's all that Andrew Mills was saying.
