I was looking at Maru Mari( I think thats what it's called ) and saw they had houston. I was wondering how they put him in there. Is it possible to be him?
Thread title:
直死の魔眼使い
No. Houston is just a comic relief. (Alas, the whole Maru Mari is a comic relief which in one way or another involves Houston.) And since Houston was never officially mentioned in any of the games, you can pretty much rest assured that he's not in the game. ANY game.

'Cept for HBA, of course... :P
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
I still like to think the corpse outside Kraid's lair is Houston.

Which game does that apply to? Is it only in Super Metroid?

As far as I know, yes. There's none in Metroid, and I still haven't played Zero Mission.
Yes, that corpse is only in Super, and for some reason everyone thinks it's that Houston guy.

Pure speculation, methinks.
The corpse is wearing silver, though, not blue. Looks a lot like those federation scientists that were with samus on SR388 in Fusion's intro. Maybe that's the fed's hostile environment suit, and the corpse is a fed soldier that got especially far. The ZM manual did say they made several attacks.

I just like thinking it's him because that means he's dead in official cannon. Woo!

heh, thats part of my logic as well.
I prefer to think he never existed in the canon at all. Where would he get a chozo suit?
If you're talking aboot those comics from Nintendo Power, it wasn't a Chozo suit he had, just something similar externally.

If you're talking about something else, well, no idea.  I probably don't want to know either.
In those NP comics, which is where Maru Mari houston was inspired, he was wearing a blue suit almost identical to Samus's. No humans besides those two have that type of suit, but the chozo did. Ok, it could be a replica, but it has some weird things (huge shoulder balls) that it wouldn't make sense to duplicate if they couldn't match the chozo suit's functionality (and they clearly can't).

Houston was a dumb idea and a smear on Metroid's dignity. Simple as that.

Sorry M2k2 houston.
I don't see why he suddenlt got pushed into the story but I think it was to add a little romance and add a person for Samus to flashback to.
it explains in the comic that his suit ISN'T chozo, or at least  samus states something like
"my suit was made by those birds"
(implying that his wasn't, and that hes too stupid to know any difference)

Romance? Screw that! I want loneliness and isolation in my metroid games!

And Syl, I amend my question to: Why would he have a suit that looks identical to samus's?  :D

Ready and willing.
I think silly terms like "making sense" were far from the minds of the people who made the SM NP comic.
"The warrior can harness the healing energy of the power bombs" or somesuch...

Isn't she meant to be unconscious ffs? :)
I, RoboBlob, master of all time, declare that the corspe outside of Kraid's lair in super metroid was in fact Houston.  I have spoken.

Because the federation was trying to imitate it?  Perhaps those shoulder pads have some uses.

They're giant space heaters. It really helps in ice climates.
But houston's suit lacks all of samus's functions, except i guess for life-support. The federation really screwed the pooch when they made his suit, then.

Does that mean he won't appear in future metroid maru maris?

Maybe the corpse is just Houston's suit. Houston himself probably...well, he probably was devoured by Kraid.

lol wow. Kraid must've been hungry...missiles not enough?

Heh, he got mad because nobody brought snacks to poker night.
Torizo was supose to get the snacks, but he died before then.
