That was cool.  I have a question, though, and it just came to me and it's a bit off topic.  Anyway, in MP, some of the Space Pirate logs say something to the effect that Ridley is just a creature they use to further their own ends.  However, in the E-Comic and ZM, we find that Ridley is actually a leader, and perhaps the leader, of the Space Pirates.  What's going on here?

The space pirate logs state that they have to rebuild ridley multiple times, and im sure that the newer version of ridley doesn't carry as much weight in the ranks, espicially after being destroyed.

However, ridley does seem to be very important to space pirates, and would definately be a useful ally.  Seems he might have a soft spot for kids though... (MANGA NEED EXPLAIN BETTER)
I would think that maybe he was their leader in the first Metroid. Then Samus kills him, along with Mother Brain and Kraid. So, they had already built the Ridley Robot as the Meta-Ridley prototype, and Samus...killed that too. Well, they improve the Meta version, then send him to destroy Samus. However, he didn't prove to be as intelligent as the other Ridley, and nearly destroyed the Impact Crater entrance along with Samus. So, they try again, this time using some...clone type thingy on him and Kraid. Mother Brain they just build another one...So, Samus kills them all too. And once again, Space Pirates try rebuilding. They start with Ridley, and then after that they attack B.S.L. Then they get stop and...well...killed. Except Ridley, whose frozen. Then the X come, kill Ridley, then take his and the other Space Pirates DNA, and...yeah.

Well, considering that probably no one read that, and if they did they probably don't care, I'll sum it up with this:

ZM, SM: Leader
Prime: Pawn to do dirty work for them
Fusion: Well...he's technically dead so...
I don't think the ridley in fusion is the same ridley.
I just think he happens to be one of the same species as part of the entire point of BSL was to capture rare species' .
and ridleys species is apparently very rare.

If the same ridley that was in 3 somehow survived, thats stretching things...

he was killed, (easy)
far into a planet (plausible)
in extreme heat (plausible)
then the planet go BOOM.  (how could he get out of there in time?)

i really doubt he could have made it, considering where he was located.

I didnt understand it either... (the reason could be that I still have some problems reading a original japanese text :P )

Anyway, for me it is only "official" what is in the games. This whole comic/e-manga thingy goes to far imho.

It's like with star wars. There are plenty of books, games and whatever, but only the films hold the true story.
Ah, yes, e-manga... I'd read that. If I could understand it.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely

Except while George Lucas completely ignores the expanded universe, it's blatantly obvious Nintendo is adapting the e-manga into the official storyline.
As far as I know, every single book/game etc. must fit in "the great storyline" of star wars, with George controlling/observing everthing...

This e-manga of Metroid is nice and so but it doesnt fit to Metroid. I dont want to know to much about Samus past.

I know what you have written, it is only my personal oppinion.

Nintendo has done a lot of crap in the past...

We've got a confusion in terms here...

This states that Lucas does not follow the EU.

Here, you say that the EU follows Lucas, which only rebuts the statement that EU does not follow Lucas, NOT that Lucas does not follow EU.

Anyway, that's a bit tangental. But my little logic error alarms were going off, and logic errors can bring about much suffering and misery.

Anyway, as for the e-manga... I'm a bit hesitant to count it as canon, although it is quite connected. The only problem is that it's only really been connected to the art, and to things we knew already (Samus grew up with the Chozo). I'm hesitant probably because of the Mario debacle... after being raised on the Super Show, it somehow got into most people's Mario canon (although Mario canon should be taken quite loosely) that Mario and Luigi were born in New York. Then SMW2 came out with the whole Yoshi thing. SMW2 is a hell of a lot more canon than some lame cartoon, and yet still quite a few "Mario scholars" will take the cartoon over the ACTUAL GAME.
The manga IS canon, its being written by the guy whos in charge of metroid at this point, its being hosted on the japanese official site, and if were lucky, theyre grabbing the movie script from it.

Not to mention that it has *MANY* references to zero mission.  far, far, far too many.
Remember Chozodia? When Samus sees the model of her suit on a wall? Remember the Black n White flashback? Compare the art of that to the e-manga... *sniffs* I smells Identicalness :P

To me the e-manga is canon. It is Samus' origins. I like knowing where she came from because it puts quite a bit into perspective

1. How she got her suit
2. How she jumps so high
3. Why Chozo artofacts work for her
4. Why they DONT work for Pirates (morph ball anyone?)
5.
Why in ZM she calles Zebes 'home' when its a Pirate base

Ridley:

ZM, SM - Leader
MP - a Metal robot, the ZM Meta-Ridley was the prototype for Prime's Meta-Ridley (notice how in both the chest is the weak point?)
MF - Just Ridley's species. Not actually Ridley.

A thought:
The Pirates clone stuff right? Is it possible that they may clone an evil Samus? Could be an interesting game that!

Sounds similar to a certain GBA title *coughMFcough*

Neither do I, actually.  But you DO get to read the rest of it!
