I was just wondering why, if there's a Hard mode in the Japanese Fusion game, I haven't heard of runs of it.  I haven't looked all that hard, but it surprises me that there would be no mention of it.  Is it just that no one feels like importing it, or is it not significantly different enough to be of interest?  Seems to me the person I sort-of know who imported it to play Hard did indeed find it difficult.
Thread title:
I believe that the only difference is that enemies inflict double damage, but I could be wrong.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Woah--that'd be nuts.  You'd like die in a single hit in the beginning of the game, or close to it.

You are an evil, evil man.
That makes two of us, then.

Not that it'd make any difference in Sess's run.

If I knew how to access a hard mode in the NTSC version I'd be all over that...yes I know I'm insane  Twisted Evil

Nah, it wouldn't be single hit death until Sector 3's Side Hoppers.
as soon as i have money again (...) i'll be importing it, if just because i've heard of one version difference i need to document on a real game for the version differences section (besides the different difficulties, obviously).

the two reasons people don't do runs are, imo, because there's barely any competition in the main part of fusion and doing a run on easy or hard would be sort of pointless, and because even if you wished to do such a run, importing the game for that purpose alone is probably excessive.

unless you're me, of course.
Man, the Japanese get the best version of Metroid Fusion. :(

The Metroid Fusion we all have don't even have difficulty modes at all, Nintendo should make and release a special version of MF for outside Japan. Evil or Very Mad
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
I'd import it, but I'd rather import a 6th version of FF1 and stuff, etc.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Well, I only have 5, and there's still..3 more to get!

And then FF1+2 Advance for the US, which I won't even take the plastic off of.

So Nate needs to grab it.
you just don't want to physically deal with it, so you can still send me the money to buy it, right? :D
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
No, I'd just rather buy something (ie almost anything) else.

I just don't quite understand why you would buy two different versions of the same game, especially if you're not even intending to open it. I guess I never saw logic in collecting things. I don't know. Odds are, if there are several differences in MF Normal and Hard modes, I still wouldn't care so much as to buy it again. It's the same game slightly altered, and it sucks that they took something away from it before selling it here. It just sucks and I won't do anything about it. It surprises me, though, that in the past two years this board's been out, there still isn't a list of differences. I would assume that out of our largish community there is somebody that owns the JP version.

Metroid games come out here first cause we like 'em much more than the Japanese, so it's a matter of them getting more stuff rather than us getting stuff taken away.

I'm an FF and DQ collector, and there is no reason for me to play the US version of the game, as I already have the Japanese version to play. :o

But Nate said he was going to grab the JP Fusion.

D'OH! My bad! Well, I would still prefer to have a complete version than an earlier release (at least in some cases). Okay then, thanks for the info.

It's sold out though, and probably more expensive than other places, like Lik Sang.

You'd rather wait a few MORE months for a game like Echoes then? (Or, do you mean if the game was supposed to come out later and it came out in November?) I can barely stand waiting as long as we have to! (Then again, Metroid is my absolute favorite thing in all of gaming, so....)

I didn't realize ALL Metroids were released here first. I knew Prime and Echoes are first for North America (Due to Retro being in the US), but all of them?

I did know that Japan doesn't like them as much as we do though.
looks like metroid games have been released in the us first since return of samus. (only exception was metroid for nes/fds, which was released on the same day, 8/6/86.)

Woah...  that's crazy.
