Yes (17)
No (18)
I'm curious, how many people have done it?  How good of a player are you?
Thread title:
Anywhere, everywhere
I'm not very good at Fusion but I was able to get the secret message.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
hm i never managed it. i couldn't even reach the red door after power bombing the floor.

I didn't know Spine Shark had a secret message in this game.
this site is a small group of elite players.
PAGE BREAKER
Ready and willing.
The forums on the other hand...

Although I'm not sure I'd want it the other way. Maybe a more happy medium way like before? Ah, dream on, Yosh...

hahahaha...this is a guy I quoted saying "spineshark" a long time ago and Ekarderif said basically, "who the fuck is that?"
meh...never bothered after my fusion cart got owned by my dog....
I got the message, but only after trying forever.

It didn't help that I couldn't watch the video for it on this site. :P
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
I got the message only because...I had an action replay cheat on for me to have missles and power bombs (and it gave me fully upgraded missles, yay OHKO Arachnus) and so I thought I'd skip diffusion (to see what would happen)
I found the secret message
'course I didn't know about it at the time so I browsed round the internet, found gamefaqs forum, first topic, first post, secret message and a link to m2k2
and that's my story to the site (I done both ways of secret message after)
直死の魔眼使い
I got it in the console after trying, failing and finally achieving it countless times on emu. :p
I got to it after reading about it on a metroid related site, quite possibly M2K2, and only after some hefty save-state abuse.

As of now, I'm still unable to get past the vertical room properly, but I partially blame having to play with a keyboard Embarassed
I got the message a few times and when I was bored I even tried speed running the secret message.
Mister ...
I haven't been able to get the secret message and I doubt I could ever get it.  It's not that I suck at fusion, it's just that I lack the patience to try to get the message on my own. I'd spend hours trying to get the timing right.

For those of you who have gotten the secret message, I envy you.  Congratulations.

It's not that hard if you're willing to play Fusion frequently and get really, really comfortable with the controls and movements. I did it once then realised that I didn't really like Fusion. Soon after, I quit playing the game alltogether.

You should pick better things to envy people over.
I got the Message in both ways. The usual one was hard but certainly not impossible, just hard to master. The second trick is way easier. (Though this was over 2 years ago)
Look, witty text!
I've never really bothered to try to get Fusion's secret message...

...I have been trying to get all the monster-dropped summons in Final Fantasy IV Advance, at the earliest points in the game that they can be found, though; I'm at 14 hours 14 minutes currently, and still need to pick up the Goblin summon (I've found two Cockatrice summons) before I can enter Mist.  Then, I'll be able to continue the game as normal until I reach Mount Hobs, which is where I'll be able to pick up the Bomb summon.

The only thing that's kept me sane is only working on it a little at a time.

...Sorry, I know that was pretty irrelevent, but it's one of those things you just have the urge to get out.
Armor Guardian
I only bothered twice to get the secret message a couple years ago. Both times I failed miserably. I don't really care about getting it anymore because I fail to see to see the point.

IIRC, the enemies on Mt. Hobs don't drop the Bomb summon. I suggest you check your Bestiary after killing them to confirm this.

Whaddya know, they don't!  I was under the impression that Bombs dropped them, but it looks like I'll have to wait until the Tower of Babil; as such, it looks like my next stop will actually be the Magnetic Cave, for the Mindflayer summon.

Thanks for the heads-up on that.

...And now I'll shut up, before I end up de-railing this thread.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I thought about trying to get it on several occasions, but I never actually went through with it, the Shine Spark does not like me much.
Bangaa Bishop
I've tried 15 bajillion times. Best I ever did was get about halfway up the tall shaft.  It is really hard for me to get through each part of it without stumbling on the controls.
didn't even know there was a Secret Message.  Me go find now... I'll be back ifn I get it.

See here for instructions (but dont click the video unless you're ready to give up).

l'appel du vide
Do we know how the original discovery of this trick took place?
Bangaa Bishop
It was probably discovered using a cheat device first, then people began to work out how it was possible. But I could be wrong.
