Yeah. So what interesting observations have you made so far about the game that make it cool?
I'll start things off...
  • Samus's starship is the famous model from Metroid 2 and Super Metroid.
  • The "Recording to Logbook" voice that was added in the PAL versions of Prime 1.
  • The awesome music from Super Metroid.
  • Captain Exeter (the dead trooper next to the trooper log machine outside their ship) is in the exact same pose as the dead guy in front of Kraid's door in Super Metroid. (I actually searched around to see if they would do something like that.)
  • The Space Pirates noted that they would be introducing Cordite and Bendezium (Denzium) door shields in "two deca-cycles". Well, it's been two years since then...
  • Some of the textures in Hydrodynamo station look an awful lot like they belong in the area in Brinstar where the music originated.
  • The various "Chozo Battlesuit ver.xxxx" text when you reboot Samus's suit from a virus attack.
  • Multiplayer levels are filled with interesting, interactive elements,  which is refreshing. This sort of thing has been ignored in "First person shooter" type games ever since Jedi Knight. That helps validate even having Multiplayer at all!

So a deca-cycle is about a year. That would make a cycle about a month I guess. That is of course, if it's not just a coincidence that Echoes came out aorund two years after Prime.
I also like how it tells you how long some of the Pirates and Troopers have been dead for, like eight cycles.
I have some more:

The Emperor Ing's mutated PHAZON form (The final one) is very familiar. Reminds me of another mutated being due to Phazon from Prime...

The Dark Samus final form skeletal structure bears a striking resemblence to another final boss... (Hmm... possibly the same being?  Laughing )

The dark temple roof (All 3 of em) remind me of another boss room from Prime, where a large plant-like creature lived...

Obviously, many of the creatues of Aether have a resemblence to creatues from Tallon IV...

The infant Metroids are familiar to another infant Metroid seen in another game... (Although, called a larva in that one...)

The Ingsmashers in the Fortress have a resemblence to another large creature, but were a Pirate design in Prime...

Yeah, I think that's enough for now...  Wink
Heh, I noted some of the ones listed above as well. Never noticed that one with Capt. Exeter's pose, though. Pretty nifty.

And yeah, a lot of creatures were recycled and given new names, like:

Scatter Bombu - Diligence Class Drone
Pulse Bombu - Harmony Class Drone
Grenchler - Baby Sheegoth (on steroids)
Mechlops - those lovable Triclops ;p
Ingsmasher - Elite Pirate

Also some similarities in terms of boss fights.

- Amorbis is like Flaahgra in that it's a huge towering boss in a circular arena
- Chykka is sort of like Thardus in that it separates in multiple forms
- Quadraxis summons helpers in battle just like OP did, and you have to use the Echo Visor at times to damage it (using X-Ray to damage OP)

But those were probably obvious.

I've actually heard some people calling one of the final bosses "Dark Metroid Prime", because of its appearance and how you have to defeat it, which is rather amusing.

Amorbis is nearly exactly like Twinmold from The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It's annoying how similar they are.
And Twinmold was supposed to be a 3-D representation of the worm boss from Zelda: Link to the Past (I forget the name... it was in the Desert Palace)
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Seru, your sig is 4 pixels too tall.  Needs to be 500 x 150.

That's neat about the Exeter guy..I thought something seemed familiar, but I was just thinking of dead halo guys.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

I find him to be more like the Lanmolas, which seru mentioned.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Wasn't Twinmold just a pair of huge Lanmolas anyway?
I actually really liked the amorbis fight, despite how I found it to be similar to the zelda boss... It was just a really fun fight.  O_o

Yeah. But I guess since all these games are by Nintendo anyway, copying bosses like that doesn't really matter. It's hard to keep coming up with completely original bosses these days.
