Edit: I forgot to mention. I've gotton into the habit of holding the fast forward key whenever I pick up an item or upgrade. In this hack I'd (like to) eliminate the wait. Or the black screen would be tranparent while the action still goes on! No stopping in moving or in the music. Except maybe for suit upgrades.
I came up with the first two ideas myself, actually. :P Though other people have suggested faster door transitions also. Faster item pickups is one of the things I plan on doing too (amaurea's idea, I never thought about it thanks to Fast Forward button), but I haven't gotten to it yet. Mainly because I haven't decided on a good way to speed it up - No message can make the player miss what they got, button to skip will cut off the music.
how true :P. even if brawl is better than Insanity, I'm still looking forward to Insanity more. Mainly because it's a hack of my favorite game, not just a new game.
I'd consider most SM hacks of the fullhack and above level better than most of the games today, but I'm heavily biased, due to my preference for anything using a Metroid engine over the hack and slashers, fightan games and minigame collections of today.
We have been waiting sooooooo long. so we now have to wait for brawl and insanity. though somehow i think insanity will be better
Oh right, because a single hobbyist can come up with something better than a team of experienced and successful professionals. <_<
I'm just saying that super metroid is by far my favourite game ever. even though i have probably played smash more. but the point is that you have been working on this for a long time and from what i know you are one of, if not the best super metroid hacker out there. thus this game is gonna be AWESOME.

I'm apparently getting to predictable with teasers. I'll have to fix that somehow. But I'm sure this movie's not going to be disappointing regardless. :)
can you tell me how to edit the item text for when you pick it up? and is it asm of can it be done in a simple tile editor :D
