well thats a pretty complicated trick but i almost confirmed it
i noticed that you can get an isntant morph when youre jumping barkwarts against a wall while morphing.
same happens if you unmorph (instant unmorph)
you need an high perpendicular wall to pull this off.

so the idea is:
step 1: do a regular BSJ

and now heres the really hard part:
step 2: make an instant morph when you reached maximum height
step 3: immediately after you morphed make an instant unmorph again and press B right after instant unmorphing (like BSJ)
step 4: repeat step 2 and 3 how often you need to.

i invented this to skip agon's temple keys to get the dark suit faster.

but its REALLY hard because you have to mess around with the L button and the 3d stick.....

it was an good idea but i think its not working. idk but i cant jump once i got the trick
i thought the game thinks that im on the ground and that it would "refill" my spacejumps
but it doesnt.... goddamn this would change a LOT...
it could save like a minute in miles 2nd segment of his ILS Any% run .Confused

is there any kind of memory profiler in dolphin yet to look at the jump bit and see if it is flipped where he is attempting the jump or are they not that far along yet in dolphin. if you are lucky you could boot up dolphin with ddd attached and find the bits that change upon jumping and find it that way, might be pretty tedious though.

Why would that work anyway?  Does the game register you as landed when you morph? (IM or not)?  My guess is no.

well parax told me that i need more momentum after unmorphing.
means the instant morph and unmorph must be done right after the 2nd jump and like frame perfect (or even very fast)
I think in TAS it would work... (you could skip the IS at the beginning that alone would save more than a minute)

I'll test once I get a chance it you're not going too, afaik as long as samus has upward momentum throughout the whole "jump" then when you morph and upmorph the game should allow another jump

input should be like X, ,X,B..B.. (repeated) ,and I assume using you're second jump would be faster but that also needs to be tested.

Well as far as my testing goes it can't be done <_< no matter when I morph it takes like 10 or so frames before I can unmorph and the ball starts to fall by that time so I can't jump after unmorphing

well means your instant morph/unmorph must happen in 2 frames did you tried to use it closer to the wall? i think i already got a really fast one (like 3-4 frames or so) i think with tas it should be possible.

i tested it for 7 hours... and i didnt get a single succsessful try i think its not possible in real-time :\

There was an idea like this nearly 7 years ago, but infinitely repeating bomb jump + top bomb unused -> instant unmorph, jump, instant morph onto top bomb -> next bomb jump etc.  The issue discovered, as itsPersonal has also seen, is that one seems to be aloted a total of only two jumps before touching the ground again.

That actually was an idea of mine, I was able to bomb jump and lay a bomb just before unmorphing then instant unmorph, jump, instant morph and land on it, problem being I don't think I can instant unmorph and jump again after that
