Good luck Smokey WR is really good on Super metroid, but i think you have wrong topic, just now, because this is Zero mission topic.

But anyway if you beat Smokey time on Super metroid you are master.

sorry if i wasnt clear but i meant that i already broke smokeys SS so now im going to try to break luke's record on a SS run, i prefer them since you dont have to be constantly restarting due to luck

Ok sorry my english! Embarassed

Luke SS WR run is really fast, i think it is perfect SS run, only bad part his run is Mother brain battle because this fight looks horrible.

My best SS without acid worm skip is 33.53 this run looks horrible beause i make many stupid mistake. I not never use Acid worm skip my SS run. Acid worm skip is really hard trick (lucky i think) with SS run.

But Good luck! Wink

Why even bother making this topic, then?  If you do manage to break transience's SS record, but don't record it... then you post your "good news" here (or GameFAQs, or SCU, or SDA, or ANYWHERE) without video proof, then the following will happen:
1.  Very few people will believe you.
2.  Most of the people who don't believe you, will be borderline hostile towards you, and regard you as a lying cheater.
...
Why not just figure out HOW TO RECORD the run, THEN do it.  If you break the record, you'll have proof.  Otherwise, nobody will listen to you.  Sorry if that sounds harsh... but while nobody would care if you claim a mediocre time without proof, if you claim a world record without proof, people will be upset.  Just the way it is, I'm afraid.

so what, if breaking the record makes me happy why should i care about what people say

anyway i need no proof, i have my record and sbout smokey's i am going to record that one if you care, i just need a cassete

Very true - if breaking the record makes you happy, you shouldn't care what people say.  Of course, the fact that you posted this topic in a public internet forum dedicated to Metroid speedrunning and sequence breaking, makes me scratch my head in puzzlement.  If you don't care what others think, why publicize the fact that you're trying to break a world record?  Why not just keep it to yourself?
...
And, if you do get a recording of a new WR single-segment Super Metroid run, then of course I would be interested in watching it.  Pretty much everyone here would.  Keep us updated on your progress.  Wink

that mother brain fight is worse than horrible. i don't know what the hell was going through my mind when I did that.

hey transcience, do you hav any other possible routes??

or any advice on my 2 worst rooms

You don't break the record until you can prove it.

technically i do but its not official and has no proof

but the super metroid run that im going to submit it
No, see, it's a world RECORD.  The recording part is necessary.  No technically about it.

Yeah, to write a new RECORD, you must RECORD it. But to beat it, just beat it.

we've had problems in the past with people claiming records out of nowhere with no proof whatsoever. i'd like to see someone break smokey's :38 or whatever it is myself. it would be nice to see a new super metroid run, it's been too long since the last one. for being such a loved game, it gets very little love as far as videos go.

then im glad you're so confident in yourself. :)

dont be shot down by these discouraging people. :P

i have trouble not messing up the first shaft, nevermind the acid worm skip (my only real bad part). The hive room is my other bad room, which makes me take the long beam instead of trying to survive on only the power beam.

you'll soon see anothe super metroid run, i just need a cassete for my VCR and then someway of paassing it to my PC then just submit

i could take a picture of the time but then again it could be photoshopped

anyway the zero mission record will be just for me but the super metroid one that im going to record it

as a last thing, a record doesnt have to be recorded, as a matter of fact on time attack if you beat your bes time it says "new record" and its not recorded, its just a couple of numbers along with a code saved on your cartridge

can get fork to translate if necessary.

right, fork? :)

Uh, sure. :)

A personal record is different from a world record. Two different types of records.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
WRs with vids carry much more weight than WRs without vids.

even a former WR with vid has more weight than a new WR without vid.
I like Big Butts and I can not lie
unfortunatly

Wait, that means you will have to beat it before you even start it.
