I have empirical evidence showing that chozo warriors are indeed faster than hedgehogs

I second that with all my heart!

Hmm... looks suspiciously like a speed echo...
I think I'm gonna like Insanity.

You guys were supposed to dismiss this as an April Fools joke. Don't tell me I'm going to actually have to hack Sonic into Insanity now. >_<

Anyways, now that that's all done...

I can make my own music for Super Metroid now. :D

A patch for unheadered NTSC as normal. Go left two rooms from Samus's ship, to the sloped room with an energy tank.
No, really. I wouldn't try to fool you *again* on April 1st, would I?
Ha! That sounds a little like that violin solo OCRemix.

But to my taste, there's something wrong with it, it sounds a bit... sluggish? As if the melody was out of phase with "percussion".

I uploaded an SPC, for those unwilling to patch the ROM and rip it themselves:
http://moozooh.weirdwire.ru/SM%20Kraid%20Music.spc (65 KB, as usual).
Note that the server might be a little slow.

I'm kind of going for the same sort of tone, so that's a good thing. :P It's also intentionally slow and cut short.
I know the percussion sounds off. I don't like the instrument, and have already changed it. I stuck an organ into Super Metroid.
Getting it to fit in that tiny cart was a real pain.

On a side note, there is also a text file in there - it's the complete 'source code' for the patch, compilable in xkas, and there's also SPCRamMap.txt (explains how most of it works, scroll down to the newbie friendly section) and EscapeMusicData.txt (original game example partially documented) at the same url. If you have a good understanding of hex editing, you can probably figure out how to put your own music data in. Better documentation will probably come soon - when it does, I'll also update the index page
