Just curious since I don't get the chance to stream as often anymore... What's the latest on this? Abandoned? New route/glitches/speed tricks found warranting a start over? Going for sub hour SS instead? Any vids of any of these things???

so i thought i could do this SW in my 100% segmented run, though it doesnt work there
because it would block me later in the route =/

anyways, i just realized, you could skip the scanposts and do this OoB instead in your
segmented any% to save around 20 seconds, if it wont block you later on probably a really
nice timegain though this OoB is incredibly annoying, but its right at the save station so..
its hopefully not too horrible, i think you could get a setup for it, though.

Erm.... it does block your path? How are you going to get out quickly after the lower torvus key, besides dungeon/catacombs portal? (and i'm pretty sure the detour to the dungeon/catacombs portal takes longer than the time it takes to scan the posts via air underwater)

right, he doesnt have dark visor yet, so he couldnt get the sky key at catacombs, also he takes that way out of the undertemple...
maybe its still a good idea to time if its faster to take the portal at catacombs, i think 20 seconds is quite a lot, so its probably faster to take that portal? i'm not sure. i mean, the savestation is right at the morph SW, so you could do it right away, sounds pretty convinient.

I'm pretty sure using the portal in catacombs takes more than 20 seconds <_< You have to time how long it takes to go from the bottom of Undertemple Shaft to Dungeon (and remember, you have to take the morph ball cannon to the top in undertemple shaft then fall down to the center floor), then catacombs to hydrodynamo station... That's easily over 30 seconds, maybe even a minute.

from the bottom of undertemple? isnt it just the two tunnels and the dungeon?...
i mean jumping up that room with the scanpost is pretty slow, and you'd just go the same way in the dark world besides that morph ball cannon (which probably costs like 3-4 seconds, then, getting do the door, probably 2-3 secs the tunnels and dungeon. he'd save around 2-3 secs by not taking the portal in undertemple.
dungeon takes hm.... 4 seconds? a bit more in light world though (probably 7) and the two tunnels, ontop of my head those take around 4 seconds. thats 24 at worst and at best 21 seconds, though theres still loading times so yeah. even being optimistic its fairly unlikely to get below 20 seconds, its also depending on what strats you do, so timing might be an idea here, though doing that SW sounds pretty painfull.

surely, thats just a rough, random estimation, but you'll have to go half of the way anyways, and 20 seconds is a chunk of time.
i dont see how thats anywhere near to a minute.
and i dont see why you would time it from the bottom of the undertemple, its not like miles gets warped to the lower torvus elevator after beating PB Guardian though. >_>

Erm. No. The tunnels take more than 10 seconds each, not close to 4 seconds.

For example, Tunnel between Catacombs to Hydrodynamo Station takes 15 seconds alone (44:28 to 44:43 in www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnYz7GwRbqo ) for example. He doesn't have boost ball though, so that is a few seconds off, but still, it's not gonna be less than 5 seconds. I'm too lazy to time it in the dark world and such.

Oops, I guess I mean starting from the portal by undertemple in the dark world, up until dungeon. But yeah, you're underestimating how much these detours take <_< That SW is likely not worth the detour to dungeon/catacombs... There's also the time it takes to wallcrawl down after the SW, which costs some time (not as much as scan posts, but still) so don't ignore that...

Errr no, it takes more than 7 seconds? You're really underestimating how much time it takes to make the detour to the dungeon/catacombs portal <_<

...Why don't you actually record a timing of the following:

Route 1:
-From the save station, Wallcrawl down to hydrodynamo shaft until portal
-From portal by undertemple, go to dungeon, take portal to catacombs, go until door to torvus's mini elevator

Route 2:
-From the save station, use air underwater to scan posts, then go down to hydrodynamo shaft until portal
-From portal by undertemple, go to light world, climb dynamo shaft, go until door to torvus's mini elevator
