Here we go... Come on :56 :53!
so this is the real deal? go go go!
hey miles, what do you use to record your runs? i'm looking for a new dvd recorder, so i'm just curious.
A Magnavox brand DVD recorder (model ZC352MW8). It works well enough, but it's several years old now and I don't know if they even sell it anymore. I guess you should try to get one with a hard drive, though, if you're able to afford it.
ANKOKU
This... will be one interesting ride. (I was hoping I'd get to see this soon)
not evil,just hungry
yay, one annoying segment done.

I know it's standard fare for acceptable segments, but it's still impressive to see the attention to detail in between all the easy to mess up tricks. keep it up
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
Scan dashing in secret worlds, very nice!

my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
it looks like most segments have something mind bending (especially the first ones)

looking forward to the final product.

for the DVD recorder question, don't get anything of the LG brand. my DVD recorder with HDD is from that brand and it is worse than the older one i had. the DVD tray gets stuck and, when you burn a disc, the quality is worse. it also lacks S-video input.
i went with a newer model magnavox that was recommended to me on sda.
So after two days of practicing Segment 2, I've now saved enough time where if I were to get Sanctuary's beam ammo and tied the rest of the 1:01's segments, I would get around 59:40. >_>

Also, HQ download of Segment 1 if anyone's interested: http://www.gamefront.com/files/20317940/MP2+AnyP+Segment+1.mp4

That's... wow. I'm not even sure what to say about that.

If that's possible, it sounds like the final time will be even lower than anyone expected. Good luck!

holy ****, i was think you would only beat it by like 2 or three minutes... if you keep taking off time like this your gonna take of like 7 or 8 minutes, or more
To be fair, the second segment is the only one with a route change this major. It'll still be decently below :59 though.

yes, but your also spending fair more time on this one, i mean didnt you save 16 seconds just on the 1st seg?
The comparable parts were 39 seconds faster.

Ran into somewhat of an issue...

Central Mining Station's Beam Ammo is at pretty much the exact same height as the previous room's skywalk; this means that, if you can get to where it is before the room loads, you can collect it, then be inside the floor and fall back out of bounds. The problem is that normally Central Mining Station loads too quickly, so you can't get to the area with the Beam Ammo in time. However, I found a way around that problem:

Now... Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this without switching over the room first? Preferably a way that wouldn't fall under SDA's hardware modification rules. >_> While this is a bit faster than collecting Sanctuary's ammo, it's still slow enough that I won't collect it currently.
you can't jump to it?
Does the Gamecube/Wii load the room at a different speed or in a different way?
ANKOKU
So what's the problem with using that? (outside of that you've said it's slow)
Does it actually break an SDA rule?
...The fact that it's too slow.
always move fast
echoes is a bit different from prime 1 so i'm not really sure if this applies, but in 1 you can sometimes load rooms without actually reaching the door by manually hitting the trigger point (usually barely peaking out of the wall somewhere around the middle of the room).  it's possible that you can hit this trigger (assuming it exists), and then just jump back up and grab the ammo.
The current board description is amazingly classy. Anyway...

That looks so nice.
