So lately I've been going back through all of my metroid games and this week I'm playing Fusion.  I didn't really like it that much but I think its grown on me.  I've come to actually like it, despite that the computer thing tells you exactly what to do throughout the game.  I've learned to appreciate it for what it is.  Anyway, just thought I'd share.  Anyone else not like it until the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th run through?

well, fusion is starting to grow on me a little bit, as I got a completion time in fusion that I think is pretty good (1:14 15%) after giving it a half assed attempt at a speed run. while I won't like fusion as much as other metroids, I don't hate fusion anymore. still not the pick of the bunch for me, but still fun for what it is

my love/hate relationship should be clear from my posts elsewhere. kind of like the most beautiful significant other in the world being in love with you, but they won't let you sleep, so eventually you go insane and either kill yourself, kill them or run away and hide.

i dont know what i like Metroid 2, but i do for some reason. the cheesy graphix and the "music" (really just a random assortment of beeps) seem to appeal to me...god im wierd.

Fusion, to me, is strangely the only game for gba i have lost to date. Its also my second gba game i used to own. I only liked it for 2 reasons a) being able to link up to metroid prime to acquire the fusion suit in prime, b) watching my friend whip ol' Nightmare in a matter of seconds :D .

the nightmare was a retarded, usless, overly hard boss. they could've come up with something better for the gravity suit. it deserves it. besides, i think the fusion G suit looks better than the phazon suit. but, then again, im wierd like that.

I like fusion more then super metroid. Sue me.

Super is easily the best 2D Metroid game. As for Fusion? I like Fusion. It has the easiest low% run, because you have to get all of the main upgrades anyway. It's the only one I've done a lowest% run on. It makes me feel less sucky.

I have a love/hate relationship with Fusion, too. My first time through, it was awesome (due to the fact that I didn't care about the lack of Sequence Braking or the absolute linearity). I think it's a great game in itself, but compared to the rest of the Metroid series, it falls way short.

The ONLY possible similarity is the fact that both Samus and Megaman have an arm cannon. Apart from that theres not much the same. Maybe the suits and all, but no it does not play the same.
