I've always pronounced it rid-lee. It would be too weird to change the way its pronounced but I know someone who can tell us how Ridley is pronounced... THE NARRATOR FROM THE PAL VERSION OF PRIME
Ripley owns. She's the 2nd best sci-fi chick out there (after Samus of course). And I always pronounce it phonetically (god I hate that hypocritical word): rid-lee.
Ride-lee sounds too much like a mount. Rid-lee sounds too much like an awesome female sci-fi character (or its director). Rid-lay sounds better than Ride-ley but is less phonetical. Fe-ne-ti-cal has nothing to do with our discussion but is a retarded English word.
Okay, everyone does realize there's a real person named Ridley Scott, right? And everyone realizes that's who Ridley is likely named after, right? And everyone realizes that Scott's name is pronounced "Rid-lee", right? So what's the big controversy here?
The only reason I call it "ride-lee" is because I always have, and because I first got Super right when it came out, and I was a young'n at the time, you can't really blame me for saying it wrong. I never really realized I was stupid till recently.
