You know that at the end of the game, Samus defeats Dark Samus and DS gets turned into little Phazon particles. Then Samus escapes from Dark Aether before it gets destroyed. Which means Dark Aether blows up together with DS. But how did he/she/it appear in Light Aether's orbit? Shouldn't DS be gone if the world it(?)lives in ceases to exist, just like the Ing? I read the Trilogy booklet but it doesn't explain how she winds up from a destroyed alternate dimension to outer space in the light world.

this seris has more plot holes i think its best if we just play the game and dont ask (like in prime where metroid prime is the sorce of phazon but he\she\it is a metroid witch was taken to the planet by the space pirates because of the phazon already on the planet but metoirds would have already been on the planet for the phazon seed thing to morph with a metroid to make metroid prime and what not) just play the games cuz there fun as shit and STOP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! :D
I think this topic should be in the 'other' forum.

Learn to spell. Or else.

Also, that last sentence just seemed to be discouraging conversation...

it's not like figuring out how Dark Samus survived is a topic many want to discuss since everyone wanted her to stay dead.

On this forum, yes. But there are still DS fanboys out there...

Dark Samus doesn't "live" in Dark Aether.  As I hope you can remember, you fight her in Light Aether.  Twice.
does everyone forget that Dark samus is Metroid prime >_>

you can see how many people never did 100% in mp1 heh.
That all I do is 100%.
Most of the time I do 100% in the Prime games... After all this time (Fall 2007) I made a 100% scan attempt in MP2 (a great game) and man, it seems like there are a million things to scan. I ended up with a disappointing 89%. I'm having difficulty with the fact that I missed scanning 11%. I'll have to try again.
I've gotten to the point with MP1 and MP2 where I can get 100% scans by memory - knowing what each scannable thing is and what the first opportunity to scan it is.  MP3 on the other hand....seems like there are more scans as well as numerous ones that are hard to get.
I'm don't quite remember the original games (actually, only own MP1), but scans are kept on your file in Trilogy, which makes it a lot easier to get 100% scans. Still haven't gotten it in MP2 or MP3 yet, though.
Yoshi is back
I've gotten 101% on Mp2, and 100% on MP1, I just need to finish with Mp3, I'll have the whole series beaten 100+%

Also, Yeah.....MP Is DS, But, When Dark Samus obliterates into a million particles of phazon, they fly to the newest galaxy.....So What I'm saying is, I think the particles escaped the explosion too therefore on planet Phaaze DS3 Is created with the Aurora unit
Opium -- when you get 100% scans in MP2, does a message appear? When going into the final battle (and scanning the Controller than the 1st form of Emp Ing) I noticed the term Offworld in the scan panel (visor) -- is this the dark world? It looks like I had 100% of the other stuff just befor I returned the 9 keys. After killing Ing, I even scanned the (now) not working save station. I don't know what I ended up with as after winning the game, I don't know how to find out.
It does come up with a message saying that you achieved 100% scans.  The Offworld category includes Dark Samus, metroids, and space pirates.  It is a separate category from Dark World, as it pertains to creatures that are not from Light or Dark Aether.
Figuring out which thing you missed can be a bitch.  I would try opening up each category and subcategory to see which one doesn't have a bar that is full.
thanks for writing back -- the unfortunate thing could be where an opportunity exist to scan but then its over never to return. I'll try your suggestion. I'll let you know.

a tip is that you must have 96% scans before the final bosses to assure 100% scan completion.
Thanks for the tip... I looked into what I am lacking in scans and decided to start over --
I can't believe it... 92% scan before the "end"... I looked in some detail and apparently when Quad has a leg or 2 destroyed, that is a new scan so I missed that one and there was something else I missed that I can't recall. I scanned DS2 but I didn't see it in the logbook. Maybe the scan was abruptly cut short but I was positive I got it.

I'll eventually get it.
When you're scanning the bosses, you need to make you sure you scan up to 100% before the fight is over or else you'll have to reset.
I catch myself scanning sometimes and other times I don't think about it and this is out of habit. I should have known better on Quad as I scan the head several times. And Opium -- I reread what you wrote about the scan data -- that is something else I must be glossing over without any thought. Thanks
made it through another game... when fighting DS4, I paused to look at the scans... 98%. For whatever reason I am missing scans for Metroids. I can only think of 2 types of metroids in the game... the dark and the red. I'll try one more time, if I fail to make 100%, I have to give it up for now.

It's probably the infant tallon metroid.  They don't show up until later in the game, not sure what the trigger is though.  They are in the room that is 2 rooms past the large blast door in agon wastes - it's the room that has a smaller room attached to it via a dark door and has a missile tank inside.  The infant metroids come out of hanging metroid coccoons, which are also scannable and may account for another missing scan.

I wish I could remember the name of the room I'm talking about.  If you don't know which room I'm talking about, let me know and I will try to describe it's location better.
