lol yes, I've learned from experience that trying to record a game with an actual camera doesn't work too well. Where would you put the camera without blocking the view of your screen anyhow? I don't know if we'll ever have a good way to record the DS...It would be hard to come out with something to put it onto a TV, considering the DS has two screen and a television only has one. But maybe the Big N will find a way to hook up the DS to the 'Cube (or the next system) and squeeze both screens on the TV at once.

That's not really the way to do it, because that has no real point other than video capture, which is not exactly a very big portion of the market. A real use of a "DS Player" would be not having a DS... one could use a GC controller, and have a little crosshair or something on the touch screen controlled by sticks. Or, better, you would could choose which of the four input sections (Stick, Pad, Buttons, and C-Stick) controlled what.
Squeezing the two screens onto the screen might not actually be the hard part, given the large aspect ratio. Plus, Wario Ware Mega Party Games sort of already did it.
