So I recently went out and bought a Gamecube again (got a pearl white Dol-101 model in mint condition) and grabbed a copy of metroid prime (original US version) but i'm having a couple of issues.
Firstly, the game seem to be freezing in the exact same place every time. In the North Atrium, but only when backtracking through it. When I first go through it heading towards Hive Totem, it's fine, but when I come back through.... Crash! It freezes with the buzzing sound, and it happens every single time I try to play.
The second issue i'm having, is the door to the Hive Totem room will not open at all. The previous room (with the 3 firefly type things) seems to trigger the loading fine, but when I shoot the door, nothing happens...
Now I also have a Wii, and I tried playing it on that, and everything is fine. The North Atrium doesn't crash the game, and the Hive Totem door opens pretty much instantly.
I know the simple solution is to just play it on my Wii, but I'm a bit of a purist and I love the Gamecube (hence buying on despite the fact I have a Wii)
I also want to get into speedrunning, and if i'm forced to play it on my Wii, I hope that won't invalidate any personal records I may get. (im sure it wont...)
So what gives? Does Metroid Prime have issues running on the newer model Gamecubes or something?
There's nothing wrong with my Gamecube as every other game I have works perfectly on it.
Help? :(
