Whats the hardest Metroid game?
Metroid (27)
Metroid II (9)
Super Metroid (5)
Metroid Fusion and/or Zero Mission (5)
Metroid Prime (3)
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (1)
Hah, I was boars so I saved the next person the truble of posting this topic. :P The topic title pretty well speaks for itself, what is the hardest Metroid game? I had to cut back on space, so if you think Fusion or ZM are the hardest just be specific in your post to point out which one.
Thread title:
Not really sure on this one. Other than ZM they're all about the same difficulty for me.
If I go by which one gave me the most trouble on the first run-through I think it'd be a tie between Prime and Fusion.
PAGE BREAKER
Ready and willing.
I'm going with Metroid. It's not really harder, it just has a steeper difficulty curve.
Metroid. It's taken me longer to beat than all the other ones. Well, I still haven't beat it yet.
Too many fangirls to count
metroid 2
i havent beaten it yet
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Metroid 2, as I've only beaten it a couple times.
Metroid I.

EVIL..REGENERATING..ENNEMIES...GRRR... Twisted Evil

LOL, someone's been trying to copy me topic! :P
Metroid, I get lost after 4 rooms.
I've only beaten RoS once, and I'm NOT doing it again. Fusion was also annoying, but I think RoS gave me more trouble in general.
lvl 28 Magic Leper
The Original, enemies that keep on regenerating are extremely annoying and Mother Brain was annoying with her rinkas of doom. Also you basically remember each room once you beat the game because that is the only way you can get around without getting horribly lost for eternity. The game even had the hardest bosses, excepting Ridley.
The first one. I still havn't gotten far in it, that always starting off with 30 health REALLY ticks me off. I havn't got to any bosses so I wouldn't know about them.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
Where's Prime?

But seriously, I find Metroid II to be the hardest--not only does it reuse tiles and stuff like the original Metroid does, but it's also in black and white!  Not to mention the maps don't line up right at all.

Pretty much sums up my opinion on the first Metroid. (The farthest I've ever gotten was to fighting Kraid...)
What the hell, who took off Prime from the poll? >=(
Original Metroid is simple if you have the state of mind to remember where you are/where you're going. Although finding the right places to bomb can be tricky first time through.

So I'll go with Metroid, out of the ones I've played. Prime was hard too.
Metroid. Kraid was evil, and so is that mother brain called Mother Brain. Alway starting off with 30 health and having to spend ten minutes trying to get health back so I can survive, because I suck, really ticked me off.
Oh, it's that guy

well DUH mother brain is called mother brain!! Laughing  Laughing

I kid! I kid!
Metroid 1, because it takes forever to get missles back. You try getting 100 missles, thats 50 refills! Im pretty good at metroid 2, it being the one ive played the most. SM is eeee-zay! fusion had a few tough points but its easy when you know what to do. Zm depends on difficulty setting, but is easy when you know how.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Metroid 1, the inablity to duck and kill the Zoomers, or any enemy lower than your arm cannon for that matter, makes it nearly impossible for me and the fact that, like TRH, I get lost after about four rooms.
Metroid 2 by far.

With the original Metroid, I have the uncanny knack to make mental maps, so it wasn't that hard.
omg, Metroid was a pain in the ass. The last Mother Brain part was HARD. Stupid Cheerios!!!
Armor Guardian
Metroid 2 is easily the hardest in my opinion. I haven't even came close to beating it (not that I've actually tried).

Despite the fact that I haven't beat Metroid 1 I've played it enough to know what to do. Here are some tips:
[list=1]
  • Kraid + Bombs + Energy tanks + Varia = easy.
  • Get the Varia Suit ASAP.
  • Screw attack. Get it early.
  • Wave beam. Wide range and shooting through walls > freezing enemies (unless in Tourian).
  • Use these maps.[/list:o]
  • Original Metroid, the only one I haven't beaten. Mainly because the fact that you can't aim down or crouch makes those damn zoomers invincible unless they climb up a wall, and when you get lost after 4-5 rooms and have to climb those really high vertical corridors make you lose focus.
    lol no way
Probably Prime, without the tips. It's the longest one, and even with the tips still pretty hard... with all the 2d ones I found it easy to navigate (well, mainly 1 and II, cause I too make mental maps as I go... the others have maps), and none of the bosses were very hard save Kraid in 1.
    red chamber dream
Prime isn't all that difficult once you get the hang of it. It's a lot of the same thing over and over. But then again, aren't all the Metroid games?
