well i dont know the issue number, but its the first one (i think) with a walkthrough of the game. The one missile expansion in the beginning of norfair that would are supposed to need the power grip for, it says you could use a sequence of bomb jumps or something to get it if you want it right away.

and when i first played the game, i forgot about the whole concept of freezing enemies as platforms. soi thought you needed to bomb jump to get out of one of the first rooms in ridley, with the tube that bad guys come out of, that you shoot a missile block in the ceiling. (sorry if im not being very clear)
I was thinking of this poll in the context of a 15% hard run. Also, I didn't think about starting deaths so much as who was a challenge to beat when I became more experienced. RR is a true (fake  :) ) ridley to beat just because of the way he cheats with his head and arm blocking the weak point. Plus, you don't have enough supers to kill him in one perfect round, so you have to use missiles after that, oh lordy.

I don't know why, but Mecha-Ridley was harder when I fought him with 100% items than when I fought him the first time with 77%.

Bosses take 3 times as many hits to kill when you have 100%.  It may range from %, but I dunno..

Thinking of 15% Hard....i'd say Meta-Ridley.  The thing that makes him the able to kill you is the randomness of his laser.

I don't know why everyone is saying Mother Brain when that was the easiest boss in the game.  They're all easy.  I was disappointed that Metroid is one of those games that have become pathetically easy because today's generation of gamers suck.  All they want is something to easily kill to be satisfied.

The hardest boss in the Metroid series would have to be Ridley in Super Metroid.  The good old days where you had to use all your missiles, super missiles, power bombs, and charge beam to barely get the job done with 15+ E-Tanks.

Super Metroid set the standard of Ridley being the toughest boss that you had to go all out to beat.  He was my favorite boss cause I actually had to try.  When I got Fusion I was greatly disappointed at how quickly he died -- he died even faster in MZM.  In Prime the problem was the FPS thing and not being able to see more than 90 degrees of the field -- ya, hurt me cause I can't see where my arms and legs go....

It's been a while, I may have gotten better since Super Metroid, so it could be just as easy -- atleast Ridley didn't die in <20 Super Missiles.
IDDQD, IDKFA, IDSPISPOPD. There Doom totally spoiled

Oh and don't forget
To beat the boss in Doom2, stand on the pillar when it rises fire a missile into the skull images brain, if you clip into the brain you'll find it has a head! I think it was Les Ellis from Gamesmaster magazine (he was a Doom nut), if not I dunno who it is

Mother Brain was the hardest. Kraid I killed easily. Ridley I killed TOO easily! I was disappointed with him. In Super Metroid he ripped me a new one this time... nothing. If Super ever gets remade they MUST crank up the difficulty on Ridley!

Mother Brains deliciously delicate deadly donuts of doom decimated my desparate dares at defeating Mother Brain.

Then there's the pellets.... I HATE pellets! they shoot me I fall in lava... Cheerios hit me. I fall back in lava. Mother Brain hits me. I fall in lava once again.
Ridley on hard for me. Or Mother Brain on Normal. Pushovers when you learn their patterns but it hurts learning :)
Mother brain is super easy in any difficulty once you learn about the magic recharge station hidden in the room called:

The right edge of the left platform.

Kill Rinkas for powerups when needed and she doesn't stand a chance.
Imagine my trouble when I FORGOT to collect Hi-Jump & Screw Attack last time :D It was on easy so it didn't matter that much. But still. Did Ridley first & thought the game had missed I had already beatn him so I went to Tourian instead ;) From now on, I would love if Nintendo put up BIG red  blinking text messages on screen so I would always know where to go next...

No no, see, that would be called "Adam", and we don't want that.
Hands down Mother Brain.  Not only do her attacks do alot of damage, shes freaking invincible unless you sucessfully dodge her attack, which is hard since you have rinka's and the more dangerous turrets.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
MB was the hardest, though its only because of the turrets and Rinkas.
MB was ridiculus-I mean,it's just a brain,right? AM I RIGHT?
Go ahead, shoot a missile into my eye. :D
Kraid was tough for me,though-I kept running out of missiles.
It is kinda strange, y'know, that MB is invincible if her eye isn't open. After all, she's a freaking brain, not some armor plated tank. Since when is an eye more vulnerable to missiles than a brain?

You'd think she'd catch on and just keep her eye closed for a few hours. Robo Ridley could also keep himself perfectly safe if he just put his head over his chest for the entire fight. But that wouldn't be too good for our heroine...

Anyone else think it's a bit odd that Ridley, when he hears about his counterpart's death at the hands of a heavily armed huntress, immediately turns around and heads to Zebes? The best protection for mother brain would have been for him to stay locked in his ship!

Lastly, what's with gates that open when big bosses die? Shouldn't that be their cue to lock? Boy, imagine if the space pirates had to make renovations to Tourian during the game:
"Uh, sir, we kind of need to kill you, it's Mother's tank cleaning time."
"RAARG!"
"Now, come on, it's to keep up appearances for the Space pirate confederation!"
"GARR!" *chomp*

Ok, this is the cuefor everyone to say:

"IT'S A FLICKERBAT GAME!"  :D

:o Whoa..... Anyways, Kraid for me was hard when I, (don't laugh at me) attempted to do a speed run through the game.  I took a hell of a long time to just beat him, and some times I would die when he was almost dead.  Grrr......
Oh, it's that guy
I would have to say Meta-Ridly, becuase HAVE YOU EVER TRIED HIM ON 100% HARD?? (1 swipe=3 energy tanks Shocked )
lol no way
I would say Mecha Ridley, because 1) Meta Ridley is NOT ON THIS GAME, and 2) because HAVE YOU TRIED HIM ON 10% HARD??
(1 swipe = death, and you have 4 fucking missiles)
I would say Mecha-Ridley, even on a normal 100% run. Yesterday I was trying to beat him on hard for 2 hours.. Yep, sounds crazy, I know.. I just couldn't manage the laser-stuff. Today I beat him on my first try. :D ;) :P
MR is easy if you have 6 Super Missiles and aren't doing 100% I hate him in 100% because he takes three times the amount of hits.

Heh? Don't understand that.. o_O

Why should he take 3 times the amount of hits if you got MORE missiles on the same difficulty? XD
If you have 100% items, the game upgrades mecha-ridley. Each swipe of his arm takes away 3 e-tanks on hard, I think, and he takes 2 times or something the amount of missiles to kill.
But it's only MR who is being upgraded or what? ^^
since there aren't any other bosses you can fight with 100% items... no.
Man, everyone says "OMG MOTHER BRAIN IS SUCH A HAXOR!!!!!!!!" But I mean I never lost to her on any difficulty, even though I suck.  What's the big deal? All you have to do is jump a bunch.
MB for me as hardest and Ridley for easiest. It was pretty funny though with Ridley. I beat him in 10 seconds by running in and firing off all my super missles when he was on the ground. I didn't lose any health.

Btw I haven't finished my hard run yet. Stuck at Ridley lol(no super missiles though)
MB hardest and Kraid easiest. I dont know whats the prob ur havin saying ridleys easier ( Ridleys easy but not easier ) the prob u all have with Kraid is that u must not fear of losing missiles. With Supers ( going Ridley 1st ) you can shoot a Charge Beam on his eye and 4 Supers and hes gone. ( i dont remember if its 3 or 4 )
Even with normals hes done in.

Er, you kinda double posted there. And try taking more time, and spelling out "you" and "your" and stuff. There's no hurry.
