Okay, this is wierd. Now that I have the Limits hack applied, I'm playing it, and, well... in the escaped sequence on Ceres, I can only go down a hole, upon which the game freezes up. If I jump over it, the door doesn't work.

Well, you have to fall in that hole, so it's normal that the door is locked. If the game freezes that means that you just have a problem with your rom (more precisely with your patch), check if your rom is NTSC.

My rom is SRM, so I guess that's the problem. Where can I get an NTSC rom?

And yeah... it's easy to hit Ridley 100 times. All you need to do is stand on top of the door.

Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
There is only PAL and NTSC. PAL can easily be noticed by German/French subtitles that cannot be disabled. NTSC has optional Japanese subtitles.

Alright, I've gotten pretty far in Legacy without help, but now I'm really stuck. That, or I just get bored really easily.

So, anyways, I got the Varia Suit a while ago, now I'm stuck/bored with Legacy. Could someone please tell me where to go?

You need to get in Norfair, in order to take the grapple beam, the ice beam, and then the Power bombs. P.JBoy mentions a way to get the first item, but only consider the place about where it is, since you can take that way only after getting it. Alright, see where it is? The way to get it from the lower rooms is the room that provides the 5 beetles. Try using lots of jumps around the ceiling. After that make your own way out of here, from the upper rooms. The ice beam is near the elevator that takes you into Brinstar, you will use it to make your way to the rooms on the right.

It's normal you got stuck, so I helped you a lot. I know sometimes it's better to search, but I had to finish the game by skipping the grapple, because I got bored >.<.

DonnyDonovan : First, if you don't have the wave beam, then look for it.
The wave is in the wrecked ship if I recall correctly. You must kill Phantoon.

Then :
The speed booster is in Norfair, you must go through a room where water rises quickly, and where you must morph ball and spring jump. It's on the lower parts of Norfair.

If you need more help, I'll say more.

I do have the wave beam.  And I think I know the room you mean.  The next room after the rising water morph ball room is full of lava, right?  It has a missile container at the bottom.

Anyway, there seems to be nothing I can do in that room, over or under the lava, other than suffer a fiery demise.  I haven't seen a post from anyone else who got stuck looking for speed boost so I feel like I must be missing something obvious.

But, to make a long story short, yes, I need you to say more.  Sorry.

EDIT : Okay, no need for pics, you got to the room I was talking about, and yes there must be lava... at least for my game. There is lava only after you got the speed booster, so your problem is weird. So basically the game thought you already had the speed booster. In the case of that hack problem, I can't have any help tips for you. Sorry.

I got SMILE, and now I'm working on a hack. But the problem is. I can't figure out how to make a shootable block. Could someone please give me some pointers?

yeah, scroll down the tile poroperties and selecct a shootable block tile.....  OR open up the original rom and LOOK AT a block you know is shootable.  then you'll find out how to make them.... just expermient and play around and you'll get everything.... as for some pointers, I recomment BBAC, 91A7, and my favorite CE17..... Wink

they are camera controls that turn scrolling on and off for that area. not sure how to use them though...

but yoshi, there is little harm in naming sites as they go down so quickly and get turned into the pestilence that fills the web (thos sites that are pages of adlinks, search bars and popups)... the waste of web pages past...
