hack help [locked]

I managed to find all the answers to my questions right after posting them :D . Legacy is not hard at all anymore, after I got the Spazer. Is Legacy supposed to be harder than the actual one, or is it just a mixup of the levels and items?

It's definitely the easiest of all the hacks by a long shot. It's got some tough parts (especially Lower Norfair!), but it was definitely designed for someone who had maybe played through SM once and was looking to get a breath of fresh air.

If you want some challenge, I highly recommend Metroid Limit, found on the same page as Legacy. It walks the line between hard and infuriating very well.

The only problem with Limit is that the 'blue suit' part in maridia may not work, in which case you are hosed.

It didn't work in my game, though I was able to take one of the zmvs that was posted and play on and it miraculously worked.

The only problem about Limit I have is that save states are practically mandatory, even for masters. I doubt anyone's actually done it legit. I'm one of the most reluctant to use them, and even I resorted to them after about a dozen attempts to grab the Morphong Shoes! I think I did get them a couple times, but the time it takes to get those, save, grab the missiles, and save is just too much for me. Good thing I learned early on, or I might have quit at Phantoon. >_>

flickerbatting gunship!!! stupid glitchy metroid limit got me stuck in a flickerbatting wall and now I have to do the whole game over again because my savestate screwed up... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Is there any way out of a wall? I was grappling onto a sidehopper and I grappled straight into the wall, about 3 blocks deep. Can I like use SMILE somehow to get me out...? I've played for like 3 wasted hours. I acidentally saved while stuck in the wall. Is there a way to open a previous save state, or edit using smile?

Excuse me for my noob question... I haven't played super in about a million years, now I am playing it on virtual console. I can't get mockball to work. I know it works on VC, because I can do it on a long straightaway, but it just won't work when done through doors, which is about every application of it! I am dash jumping through the door, releasing everything, then holding down at the transition, then releasing down, and as I hit the ground, hitting down and jump...Anything wrong?

The description on the site threw me off at first too, but it is a really simple trick.

You need to be holding in jump before the morph, and possibly before you press down the first time. To be on the safe side, I only let go of jump for an instant to kill my vertical momentum and then hold it in again quickly as to keep my horizontal momentum, then press down for the first time.

You can morph slightly before you touch the ground too; just as long as you don't bounce. You also have to hold the direction you want to go, right after you morph.

I'm playing through Legacy for the first time and am stuck. Can't get power bombs. I've got 3 tanks, wave, ice, & charge beam, high boots, missles, and super miss. Found this speed run video on youtube:

I'm at the green barrier, but when I shoot a super missle at it, it will not open. Am I doing something wrong? Is this the best way to get power bombs?

You can either, go the proper way. Or practice the Green Gate Glitch

Almost happy

I'm stuck in Leagcy for the first time, I have Varia, Gravity, springball, wavebeam, spazer, charge, hi-jump, supers, PB's, speedbooster (And possibly something(s) I have forgotten to mention) I have killed every boss up to kraid nad it feels like I have forgotten to grap grapple somewhear but I don't know. I feel like my next destination is maridia and I have been there (Trough all 3 elevator entrys) but I find nothing there exept some tanks. Where should I go next?

EDIT: I also have the feeling that I have taken pretty much every tank available, I have something like 25 PB's 25 Supers ~130 missiles 2 reserves and 8-9 E-Tanks.

I think you meant to write Draygon? Regardless, maridia is split into two sections, and both are your next destination. I'll leave it to you to find each one, but both contain important things required to beat the game.

Also, grapple beam is

in Upper Norfair

, but you'll never really need it.

I have found entrances to both parts of maridia (3 elevators in total) and have searched each place for a long time without finding anything... Well I guess I'll have to search harder but as long as I know maridia (Draygon) is my next target the search will be a little easier. I secuencebroke into LN but a chozo statue would not work (need spacejump I guess). And I just found Icebeam.

And I beat reverse yesterday, certanly a very odd hack IMO many strange things going on. Anyone know why it's called reverse though?
