Very unfortunately, some ROM/emulator combonations disallow that form of blue suit glitch. You can, however, still beat the game.
Backtrack to the Noob Tube room and jump up to the door at the top. Go right and you'll pick up an alternative Gravity Suit. That's all there is to Maridia, so head out in search of Ridley.

Huh... How am I supposed to get back to the Noob Tube room? I can't really backtrack from where I am... Weird thing is that when I play Qlex's movie, the glitch works perfectly, but when I load my game, it won't work...

EDIT: I would like some help for Legacy too, here's my stats:

Morph Ball
Bombs
100 missiles
20 Supers
15 Power Bombs
7 Energy Tanks
2 Reserve Tanks
Varia Suit
Hi-Jump
Speed Booster
Charge Beam
Spazer Beam
Wave Beam

I think I have something to do in Norfair by looking at the map but I can't find a way anywhere...

Thanks XtraX, I found my way.

But now I'm stuck again.  I just got SpringBall and worked my way into Maridia.  There was this metal door there, but after bombing around, I found out it wasn't really a metal door, but Power Bomb blocks, so I blew 'em down and went on my way.  I blew up the glass tube in the next few rooms and got stcuk again. Crying or Very sad

I am stuck in the same place, and that walkthrough link no longer works, I get Internet Explorer's favorite error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage," the new version of "The page cannot be displayed" The TAS shows how the guy short charged the booster, but I cannot do that, Ive tried frame by frame following the short charge instructions and everything.

By the way I think I made a major sequence break when I got Spring Ball before Grappling Beam, cause there is grapple block in the spring ball room, but I just performed a running mega jump out of the water and grabbed it that way.

@CymicX: Maybe not where you've most recently save-stated, but there's a save room right after the noob tube where you should respawn at if you die. If you didn't save there, then bite the bullet and replay a couple segments... Wink. As for Legacy,
Look for Ice Beam in the first room of Norfair
.

@Lawrence/DeathNoble: I'm not really sure what there is to be stuck on. My guess:
If you take the downward path from the noob tube, you'll enter a room with enemies spawning from a pipe. Jump straight up into one of the ceiling pipes to find a secret passage.

Yeah, I found it after watching the TAS again, and after posting, which is normal. I have a save state of just before I go on the path to him, which I plan on making a movie from. Also after I beat it, I plan on making a REAL gameplay movie, not a TAS, so regular players can know what to do.

Also, a note about Botwoon's area

You will find he hides the Space Jump, and if you go up, then left at the top, then down, then left from there, and up to a room full of pink Space Pirates, you must space jump up to the top to find the Plasma Beam. The Plasma Beam room is the hardest room in all of Maridia, and one of the hardest rooms in the game.

Edit: The movie has been made and is attached. I messed up on the IBJ in the room with the small pipe but got it on the third attempt. I just ran through the monster sidehoppers to save Supers.

Compared to the rest of Legacy, yeah. What's fun, though, is trying to do it without space jump.

I'm fairly sure it's impossible, and the point is moot because the Lower Norfair statue requires space jump to pass. Soooooo, forget it.
Okay, I'm in Legacy and I finally got around finding the ice beam and the grapple beam... But am I supposed to get out of red brinstar or something? I'm lost as to where to go next, any hint on what I'm supposed to find or where I'm supposed to go?

Edit: Oh...Nevermind, I found out the way to Kraid... Now I'm stuck in Maridia, I can't find the good way... For your info, my last item was the Spring Ball...

Next: Go fight Draygon

Go to the top of the room indicated in the attached screenshot and go left at the very top and run through the wall halfway across, and just follow the black line in the screenshot. In order to get to Botwoon easier, I suggest you go fight Draygon first to open the path to the "Noob Tube."

Off Topic: Why the hell is it called a noob tube? I call it the "Maridian Shuttle"

Edit: I posted a screenshot showing you how to get to Draygon

Thanks again! So this series of empty rooms DID hid something!

I cant really offer anymore map screenshots because my save game is complete to the third phase of Mother Brain. But I will be releasing a run through movie soon.
Sorry to bother again but, I've just defeated Draygon and I tried to go to the doors that unlocked in Maridia but always to find myself blocked by a crumble block... Do I have to find the space jump or I just have to go directly to lower Norfair?... Or I'm just completely lost?

What you have to do next is:

You have to go fight Botwoon for the Space Jump. Go to the elevator at the far east end of Crateria, and enter Maridia at that one. When you get off the elevator, you will see a metal door on the right. Power bomb it and you will find that it is not a real door. Go into this screen and continue going right. When you get in this tube, power bomb it and jump up to the flashing door on the right

Watch my movie posted earlier in this topic to figure out where you need to go from there.

And,
You cannot go into Lower Norfair without the space jump cause the room before the elevator is similar in design to Super Metroid.

Sorry for the double post. I am now stuck in SM: Zebes Returns. I attached a screenshot of what I have up to this point.

I tried to go beat Phantoon and got wiped. I tried to go into Norfair to grab the Speed Booster and Ice Beam, and I do not feel like trying another Hell's Run!

SO:

I think I need to search for Varia.

Since this is similar to Super Metroid itself, I can use my guide for the original game, but that only goes so far when the items are changed around.

For those who are having trouble searching for a certain Metroid hack, go here

Okay, I dunno if you found it yet but
you can go grab the X-Ray Scope, the same place as normal, and you don't need the grapple, a ladder of blocks have been added.  I'll test to see if there's a way on where to go next.

Edit:
You can go grab the Grapple Beam too, it's at the place where the bomb were supposed to be.

Funny thing is, my screenshot shows that I have those two items already. I was asking where to go after beating Kraid.

Oh....ehehe Embarassed  Sorry, didn't notice...anyway, I'm trying to beat Phantoon but it's a pain to dodge his fireballs...

Never mind, I found out that you had to go beat Phantoon for the Varia Suit (reminds me of Legacy), so I beat him and Crocomire, and now I got (see screenshot)

Edit: I found my way and am just about done with the game now. My early reviews:

Not a very unique idea for a hack.
You could have switched up the items a bit more, a lot of them were in the same places as in the real game.
Ridley and Golden Torizo are too easy. I actually found Phantoon and Botwoon to be a challenge.
No changes to Mother Brain battle, or escape. (Thanks to CymicX for helping me find that out.)

In conclusion, not worth playing more then once. I give it a 4 out of 10, it did make me stuck at times, but as I progressed, I actually found the game easier after I broke into Lower Norfair. My suggestion is, if you want to find a better hack, go play Redesign. Now THAT hack is worth a replay after you beat it the first time and you WILL find the challenge that was missing from Zebes Returns!
question:

is there a way to play a rom without patching the file?
Some emulators will "soft patch" a ROM if an ips file with the same name is in the same directory.  ZSNES does this, though I'm not sure about Snes9x.

All you would have to do is make sure both the ROM and ips are in the same directory, with the same name, like "SM Redesign.SMC" and "SM Redesign.IPS"
Hey guys, ive just got the speed booster in legacy, and i have no idea where to go now :S.

Thanks to anyone who helps :)
Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
Tom, it would help if you told me what items you have. I have beaten Legacy and I can help you. Just tell me what items you have besides Speed Booster
I have the:

Charge Beam
Wave Beam (think i might have accidentaly sequence broken to get that though :P)

Morph Ball
Bomb

High Jump Boots
Speed Booster

Missles
Super Missles

Ive only beaten spore spawn so far and i am in the room with the super missle sliding door and used the speed booster to get out of it.
i'm Seriously stuck because when the game loads the background and samus ship(also has a red glow) can't be seen. this is a bug i'm trying hard to fix can anyone give me advice to fix this. and the worst part of it all when i go through a door it freeze while the background music plays.

i just hope someone reads this because i'm found a terrible bug that is stopping me from rearranging things:
