Are you referring to the secret worlds that can be entered by X-Ray climbing?
Well, no one has ever called it secret worlds when it comes to Super Metroid, it is simply "out of bounds". But yes that is what he is referring to. Also aside from being able to fight Mother Brain as the first boss you can also skip every boss in the game as shown in [noembed][url=[/noembed] TAS, and I believe that it is also possible to do a true RBO. That is fighting Mother Brain as the first boss, and Ridley in Ceres as the last (after which you can complete the game without defeating Mother Brain again). The only iffy part is whether or not you can escape tourian and stop the timer after killing Mother Brain, but I think someone said that it could be done. But I digress.
I suspect that it would involve some sort of reset glitch, as there's obviously no way to get back to Ceres after you leave.
Speaking of glitches, has it been known to X-ray climb from one area to another (Norfair to Cateria, for example), or is it restricted to within one map? I presume the latter, since I guess it's just an odd way to transition between rooms, rather that actual warping glitchiness.
So can you escape Ceres before fighting Ridley, or do you mean just not beating him the first time around?
Yeah you would unavoidably be facing Ridley as the first boss, if he could be called that in Ceres. You just wouldn't beat him until after you return via the reset glitch.

You have to use an elevator to get from one map to another, but I think you can find elevator transitions ofscreen so you wouldn't have to use the real elevator. Anyway, you can only go to rooms connected to the one you are in even if OoB.

Sometimes, you transition areas without a lift, just by running through doors, or even sometimes without (think Wrecked Ship - Crateria transitions), so is that also possible by going Out of Bounds? Just curious, that's all...

Dunno if I understan the question correctly. But of course you can transition between maps through OoB, all you need is a doortransition somewhere. As far as just running around OoB goes though you will never leave the room you are currently in, you'll just be running through copies of the same room over and over again.
