Yeah, In sactuary fortress.
Hello, I've never posted here before... but I recently got my hands on gamecube and both Metroid Primes and have been playing them mostly non stop for the past couple months.  SO GOOD.

Anyways.  I was in a sanctuary fortress room, the one with the Caretaker Class drone I believe? Main Research possibly? I was fighting two quads, destroyed the head on one, and the body of the other. Just as the head from one was about to dock to the body of the other, it got caught on the pistons near the wall. It was completely stuck, and they just both ended up sitting there. I thought it was very funny.

Sorry about the quality, I don't have any other way to record other than my camera.

[flash=200,200]

And also sorry if this has been posted before.  I tried to search if there was anything similarly posted, but couldn't find anything.

Ok!  That's it!
“Well done is better than well said”
That quad is getting a beating lol.  Haven't had that happen to me yet.
Jagger ftw
I am not sure wether this works or not, but do you always get instant unmorph when your in is? or if your back from is?
i dont think you get instant unmorphed every time... it seems to me that it was caused by the camera glitch where in third person the camera gets locked and you can go far away out of sight. and if you couldnt be seen the game would probably just decide to give you instant unmorph instead of zoom back in through walls or something.

but here's a glitch i found while wallcrawling. in the room right after landing site, where you jump down the hole to go to the trooper base, you can hit the trigger for jumping down the hole while still in the sw. but if you do this something messes up; the cutscene won't play, and the screen will go black. your HUD will still be there and you can hear sounds of firing, morphing, etc but you can't see anything. if you look at the map, it shows you are in the same room as the hole, i.e. it didn't switch over to the lower room (with dark missile trooper). you are still in the sw though, just at a lower elevation than you were. but you can't see the room or anything. very weird glitch
Sorry if known but I managed to outrun the spider gaurdian to the final puzzle and he became invincible!

It blew.

Speedrunners, look out for this.
red chamber dream
Can anyone confirm this ?
If I was still experimenting with taping my runs, I could have.

Basically, do the following.

After landing the final bomb and putting it in the slot, boost up to where the thing is quickly. I can't remember if I touched him and layed bombs on him or got in front and layed bombs in his path, but I do remember destroying the boxes for health and beating him to the last arena on hard mode. (That rail is the one he uses to get there. He is supposed to easily beat you there)

Then, no matter when or where I layed bombs, he would not stun. At all. Ever.
You mentioned on SDA that it teleported into the final chamber.  Did it really do that, or are you leaving that detail out because you remembered wrong at the time?

Forgive me if this is known but I found a youtube video that shows an interesting glitch I haven't heard about before. Seems Dark Samus can sometimes mysteriously regain energy.

Here's the vid (it is part of a full 100% playthrough):
http:// www.youtube.com / watch?v=1TqKQZrFUgQ

(Sorry, take out the spaces - I don't understand why but apparently I'm not allowed to provide URLs here any more...)

Near the end, when DS is almost dead, you will see her negate some of the damage that was just done to her. The video author notes this with an annotation so it's hard to miss.
I EAT YOR cookies
Not too sure if this can be counted as a glitch, but I'll give it a shot.

In Dark Agon, I was searching for one of the Sky Temple Keys in the room called Battleground. I ran through the room and looped through Doomed Entry then through the upper path in Double-Crossing or something like that...and the upper level of Battleground had a beacon in front of the door, and there were some Warrior Ing I wanted to kill so my Screw Attack wouldn't fail because of them. So, I created a Super Beacon. The first Ing does as expected and jumps into the beacon like a fool, but the second one gets up close to the beacon, but not close enough to die, and just sits there. The Ing just stands right there, staring into the beacon, seemingly mesmerized.

But when the beacon died, the Ing snapped out of it and tried to kill me again, so yeah.
Doubt these are new, but I didn't see them elsewhere in the topic...
Sometimes when checking the descriptions of upgrades, the game will put you on the wrong description page. The 2 or 3 times it's happened to me, it was always an item I didn't have yet.
Adult Bloggs are a pain, so I decided to let one catch me as a ball and feed it a Power Bomb. Turned out to be a bad idea; they reel back pretty far when you do, and they don't let you go immediately. It got me wedged in a wall, unable to unmorph. Trying to get out with a bomb just sent me under the room, falling endlessly. Only way out was to reset.  Razz

are you saying that a blogg sent you into a secret world?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Sounds like a Wormhole.
like wormhole, yes.... but probably this too (http://www.metroid2002.com/prime2/index.php/Blogg_Morph_Ball_Glitch):

"If you shoot a missile at a Blogg, then turn into Morph Ball mode, the Blogg will grab you and you will lose a bunch of health. This is not unusual. However, if you freak out and drop a Power Bomb in its mouth, It will be destroyed, drop you and you will look just fine. You can drop bombs, PBs, and boost. But you may notice YOU CAN'T UNMORPH. You will have to reset the game. My guess is this is because the game thinks you're still in its mouth and therefore disallows unmorphs. "

so you may be stuck falling no matter what, making it useless. cool find though
i found a new glitch based off IS. i'll call it the "whiteout" glitch.

all you have to do is use IS in sacred bridge (temple grounds, room with seeker/dark visor door and a kinetic orb cannon) while GFMC compound isn't loaded, or is loaded but doesn't have the orb cannon active yet. you'll be warped into the sacred bridge orb cannon and fired like normal, but the screen will go completely white. all of your actions still work like normal but you just can't see anything. and it's like not the IS light show glitch either because the game still runs at normal speed and the map still works. so i was able to navigate to an elevator which does remove the whiteout.

semi-related, i wondered what would happen with IS in GFMC compound if the cutscene hadn't been activated yet (had to make sure sacred bridge wasn't loaded either or i'd just get the whiteout glitch again). surprisingly it acts just like you would expect IS to, simultaneously giving you the missile expansion from the top of the ship AND activating the cutscene.

then if you use IS after the cutscene but BEFORE turning on the orb cannon, you'll just trigger the room's terminal fall no matter where you are. this of course puts you back into biped unmorphed mode automatically which will trigger the light show glitch like normal.

one last IS thing, in communication area (the room where you can acquire IS in the first place). IS gives you the missile expansion but then the game goes wacky. the screen basically freezes and samus disappears completely; the game slows down to like 1/100th of normal speed, waaaay slower than the light show glitch even. i could tell because i boosted towards a wall, and even though samus was gone i could still see sparks from boosting into the wall, and these take a very very long time to disappear, basically one frame every couple seconds. but if samus still exists anywhere, it's impossible to see her or do anything so you've basically frozen the game ;p
Keep playing around with that. Who knows what else you'll find.
(user is banned)
Breathe in the Future, Breathe out the Past
This isn't really a glitch, but I'm not going to start a new topic just to say it.

It really annoys me that during the portal cut scenes, they were never arsed to create Samus' dispersal colors for each suit.
Basically every time you go in with the dark and light suit, you still get the first suits colors as Samus breaks apart.
I'm sure we're all aware of this, just had to get it off my chest.
found something sort of strange. i was wandering around secretized gfmc compound, meaning the map was on sacred bridge but i was physically in gfmc but without graphics. so it turns out that in secretized rooms the terminal fall trigger isn't loaded, so i basically walked off the cliff behind the ship and just fell right into the secret world. the strange part is, there was some sort of solid floor at the very bottom with walls around it. i was able to boost around on this floor and run into what were very clearly some corners. the walls were too high to dbj, 3bj, or even bsj over so i was actually tripped in this invisible pit at the bottom of the cliff. i really have no idea what it was or why it was down there... weird

in IS news i found that if you use it in the room next to gfmc compound, the one that leads to the sanctuary elevator, you can pick up the energy tank without light suit. gfmc compound needs to be loaded too though so you can warp into the orb cannon; if not the game will just freeze like usual
Question on the Blogg glitch: if you reloaded the room in question and got "eaten" by another Blogg, would that fix the glitch? Seems like it might clear the state variable in question causing the morph ball lock if you were to get out of a Blogg bite the normal way.

It's not the only one.  Windchamber Gateway is exactly the same if you Screw Attack over to the inner wall to bypass the terminal fall.
And I know there are invisible wall surrounding  the terminal fall in one save station sanctuary fortress.

That one isn't really unusual though, as it doesn't have a floor like LeCoureur and I are talking about.  It's just there to stop you from thinking about going towards the lights.  Also, there's no wall on the MGC side, nor does the terminal fall extend to the door, but it does extend far enough toward the door that you can't take advantage of either of those facts without the MGC Morph SW entrance.
played around with IS in gathering hall (lower torvus, halfpipe, floating porcupines...). you can activate IS at the door between gathering hall and transit tube west.
-if any of the two bomb slots is still active, you will teleport into one and pick up the missile expansion. the morph ball shell doesn't reappear but IS power seems to be gone, if you boost nothing happens and the shell comes back.
-if the bomb slots are inactive and transit tube west is still loaded, you will teleport into the orb cannon in transit tube west, which will stay secretized. but it's easy to navigate back to gathering hall.
-i didn't get to see what happens with the other transit room (with annihilator door) or the tunnel back to hydrodynamo loaded. but i guess you would warp into the annihilator room and be trapped, and for the other tunnel any number of things may happen, including activating the dark world portal, warping to the gathering hall orb cannon (possible MBI?), or possibly freezing the game

also in training chamber i found that those tunnels in the floor can take away the light show bug.

Ooh... there's a line of thought that you could follow, but only if those tunnels actually take it away and not provide temporary relief like a magnetic rail does.  As I recall, Gathering Hall has rails accessible via halfpipe.  Also as I recall, Gathering Hall's cannon is off the ground like GFMC Compound's.  What if this could work...

-1. Make sure the tunnel is accessible from Gathering Hall.
0. Equip the appropriate beam for the door to Training Chamber coming from Gathering Hall.  I think it's light.
1. Make your way to the appropriate door and boost into Gathering Hall using IS.  This would warp you to the cannon and dump the room, provided the bomb slots are inactive.
2. Use the halfpipe to boost to the magnetic rails above; when Spider Ball activates, you'll be able to see and use doors again.
3. Make your way to Training Chamber's door.
4. Hit X+A to trigger the rollshot glitch and open the door; don't let that door close until you're in Training Chamber!
5. Enter the floor tunnel.

Now granted, there likely isn't a working door for this or I'm missing something from being MIA for so long.  The light show could even make things slow like in GFMC Compound, making Boost timing very difficult to grasp.

If there isn't a door, then the portal could be the answer.  My Dungeon experiments once (maybe twice) triggered an inactive portal warp if the portal had been previously activated at least twice.  If the same held true in Gathering Hall, perhaps the cannon and the inactive dark portal could be used at once to trigger MBI?  The only problem with this line of thought is that due to beam deactivation and forced passage to Dark Aether, this route could only work if you have the Sonic Boom to trip the light portal for a return trip to Gathering Hall.

Or maybe I'm just rambling because I can't sleep due to a low pressure system making things hot as hell in my bedroom.
