You know what? I love reading about glitches. It's just sort of fun, knowing that you have power over the game, the power to destroy the hard working coders' best intentions. BUWHAHAHAHAHA!.... anyway, it's even fun when the results are just silly instead of useful, and even "kill the game" glitches are interesting if you do something wacky to start them.

So here's your homework: Get me glitches! Heh. And talk about them here too. (Actually, most of you will prolly only do that.) And I'm a lot more interested in reproducible ones rather than "yeah so i pressed the buttons and wiggled and smaus turned upside dowm with a pikachu". You can do categories and arguments. Like, I think the most embarrising glitch is the whole boost ball meta-ridely thing. Or you can send MP4s of glitches to nate so much that she HAS to put them up to stop the madness! Or you can glitch out yourself, but then it's hard to type so that's no fun.

So anyway. I'll be seeing you. Just make sure you gnepou5y 83ygtq379g hw4g/

Quote from Chozo Nut:

Wow, not only the terrain, but the ENEMY sprites get messed up? That's crazy... especially that one with the letters.
I hit the SNES by accident while playing Super Metroid and it froze with a mostly broken sprite sheet showing up on the bottomhalf of the screen (in Tourian).  It erased the saves as well.

Oh, oh, oh, I had that happen to Final Fantasy 3 on SNES too!  Broken sprite sheet and lost save.  Unfortunately the save wasn't mine, but a friend's file who'd maxed everyone out to LV99 and had every spell for every character learned.  I thought for about 2 minutes to try and re-create the file hoping she wouldn't notice, but then I decided I like being sane.
I was playing Metroid Prime, and the disc lost it's loop, and kept loading the Phendrana Drifts music -- everywhere. That was some crazy crap.
My MP randomly stopped once and said there was an error on the disc that I should turn the power off and try again :S

Always happens to me -- and pisses me the hell off. DAMN YOU FURNACE ACCESS!
I just gave my disc a wipe and it hasn't happened since :P

That's probably because it was just a smudge on the disc or something. Unlike the PAL version, the original US version suffers from a bug that can make it crash for seemingly no reason at the furnace and in certain elevators. The only way to "fix" the US version is to either buy the Players Choice version or import a PAL disc, so it's something a lot of US players are happy to put up with.
haha I dont feel so bad about getting games really late now!
It's almost as if the US got a final beta version (the US market being the beta testers) and then Retro fixed it up for other markets and then gave the corrected version back to the US "beta testers."

I think having the original release is cool.  I like how it is more or less uncorrected for sequence breaking purposes.  It's unfortunately also got a number of bugs but nothing that drives me nuts. (Okay, maybe wasting a super missile on Ridley when he's randomly invincible does.)

i could go on about this for hours, as it covers several different themes i am familiar with, but let me just say for now that i highly doubt retro knew about the crashing when they released the na copy. they would have delayed the entire release to fix it.
I'm very happy, never crashed my MP, never seen any bugs. Ridley's the exception, but I don't mind too much.

I bet I would in a 22% though... nasty
