pretty sure this is already known, or something similar. can't watch the vid right now but i remember there being a way to get the map to say you're in the wrong room by using a metroid near a door. this may be something different though.

nice find either way.
Yeah I didn't actually catch the glitch on camera, just being in the room with no textures. I don't remember, is it possible to unload the rest of the room while you're inside it?
this is pretty cool. could you describe anything about the actual clip?

unlikely.

rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
That same glitch happened to Gianni a few weeks ago (in the same room and everything), I remember him tweeting about it. I imagine it's a glitch exclusive to that room(?) but even so, it would be really neat to know why you're able to walk though that doorway without transitioning the map to the next room. I'll have to look into this sometime if no one else does.

well, this 5yrs old video was suggested by Ytoutube as I was watching Gamma_Metroid's video. I had never seen sth like that before though but I can't see how it would be useful anyway so I guess it just looks cool.

that's exactly the vid i was thinking of. thanks.

is this what happened to you gamma_metroid, or something different?
It looks like it - obviously this person also only started to record after the actual event. However, they went across to the other side of the room while it wasn't properly loaded, so at least doing that much doesn't let you out of the normal bounds of the room.

This happens if you collect boost ball, but never watch the Ridley cutscene, and then go into a SW in Phendrana Shorelines.

This looks so cool! I wonder why I haven't seen this being done until now.
IIRC you can see him from Ruins Entryway under certain conditions. I think parax or somebody showed this off in a randomizer stream.
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
well seeing as how this is directly above Ruins Entryway, I wouldn't doubt that. You'd probably just have to open the door and then turn around and look up.

I was messing around with IS because I was bored again. I came up with the idea of boosting while right in the middle of one of those door-like-things in morph ball tunnels. Since IS normally unloads all surrounding rooms, I figured maybe it'd let me just roll out of bounds or something. But I'm getting a really weird result. The camera just goes somewhere in a neighboring room, regardless of if the textures are loaded or not. And then the games shading and frame rate go all out of whack. Samus is no where to be found, even if you disable HUD lag and look on the map, she's just gone. And if you lay bombs, the explosion seems to effect everything in the room. After messing around with it more, I noticed that it works on seemingly every door in the game too, not just morph ball doors.
I highly doubt something like this could ever have a practical use in speedrunning or low% or anything, but it's neat to know that it's possible. I'm going to look into it more.

for some reason the first Tallon Overworld soundtrack when landing on Tallon IV always reminds me of Star Trek ^^ i just love this game! i still remember my first playthrough of this game back then, and the reason why i fell in love with this game.

What about you guys, does that nice tallon soundtrack remind you of Star Trek too?
And sorry, this might be off topic, but i didn't know where else in the metroid prime section to post this.
Make a new topic?

yeah, that's a good idea, but i didn't think this is important enough to make a new topic.

POST WHATEVER YOU WANT FUCK YEAH
that first cutscene when landing on tallon overworld reminds of the first time playing through this game. such a gigantic and complex playthrough with areas that seemed endless. you could always come back to previous areas and try to get those upgrades that you couldn't get before. and that thardus rock was the baddest mother fucker of all, so difficult to beat.

oh guys, what have we done to this game...
Given that the title is "Glitches", I suggest reading the rest of the topic if you wish to find out.

I believe that Fission Metroid 'where's the room?' glitch in Phazon Core should be looked into more. It's been documented happening on at least 3 separate occasions to different people, so obviously it's repeatable. Even if that glitch is exclusive to that door, understanding why it works could be very useful/interesting. The fact that you can somehow use a Metroid to go through a door and bypass the 'transition trigger' baffles me, as someone who thought they understood how doors worked after years of wallcrawling. If it can that be done on other doors in the game, who's to say it's only possible with a Metroid? I know 'where's the room?' glitches aren't the most beneficial thing to speedrunning, but just having that general knowledge about the game seems like something we should be aiming for, not to mention the potential Secrets Worlds/Infinite Boosts/Infinite Speeds this could allow.
I personally spend a good hour or so yesterday trying to figure out what was behind this bug, but I didn't manage to pull it off. Basically in this post I'm just asking for people to help look into it, especially if you've actually had this happen before.
i've been able to bypass the transition trigger in-bounds by using infinite boost at doors, though it's really random. this could be useful in allowing you to float oob in rooms that have open ceilings, as i've mentioned before losing control of samus in the wrong room makes you float.
Just in case anybody is interested, if you get out of bounds during the Ridley fight and reload the room, you still have to fight Ridley.
I run this here hotel of an evening
you mean i still have to do my favorite fight? oh no!

only guess I've got is you loaded a randomizer file? I've never had anything quite like that happen from doing that, but it's caused other weird things on me before.
