Time bomb set get out fast!
Quote from Hitaka:
If you shoot a Desgeega with a missile while it's in mid-jump, it will stagger backwards in midair, and then be standing in midair. It's pretty funny.

Like the Omega Metroid! Can you get it to pogo?

Here's a glitch I ran into in the fight with the mining mecha (we need to call it something with BOX in it). Under normal circumstances, you have to be at the proper angle to missile those power rods that pop out when you freeze it; they'll bounce off the side of the robot otherwise. But yesterday I was pinned against the wall behind the mecha for the final shot. Nonetheless, I could target the last rod and missile it right through the back of the robot. Maybe I was inside its collision detection radius... I wasn't taking damage, though.
Phoenix
You can just jump on it and Overblast it to destroy all the power rods at once.

Good to know! Still an interesting glitch, though.

you can missile the power rods? didn't knew about that...
Heh, I didn't know you could OB the top of the thing either. I'd been using missiles each time.
I found out about that because it's in the Theater.

i thought the iced tracks and the thing being on top of the deleter mobile was hint enough
ANKOKU
As a means to climb up?

All I saw was the classic "He's frozen now and his weak point is exposed! KILL IT!" So I used Missiles as well.

"He's frozen now and his weak point is exposed! KILL IT LETHAL STRIKE IT!"

At least, that is how i thought...
I didn't lethal strike it on my first playthrough until it was really low on health, LOL.

Yeah, it's kind of nice that the game dispenses with the hand-holding after a while and doesn't always give you obvious Lethal Strike and Overblast cues. Unfortunately, sometimes those moves are the only way to get anywhere. I wasted a lot of time on the fire boss freezing his hands and then using missiles; if I was doing any damage that way, it wasn't much. I had no idea Samus could do a Prince of Persia-style "climb the boss" routine. It was like doing the final Dark Samus fight in Echoes without knowing you can suck in her Phazon shots. (Which, yes, happened to me as well... but I had no excuse that time because her scan tells you how, as long as you "click through" to read the details.)

Now that I think about it, there may actually be an Overblast cue in that fight, but I had taken to ignoring them at that point because they kept popping up endlessly for the same enemies... or maybe the cue only appears if you're close enough.

Actually there is, and it's very, very silly, but I only saw it on Hard Mode.  I'm pretty sure it doesn't do any damage, either.  Basically, one of Adam's crew jumps on it for a few seconds then falls off.

I wish I was joking.  You can do it at any time, too.  You don't need to have the guy climb on him to do it, either.
He is talking about the giant fire boss. Not the whale. It says to do a overblast...

There is an overblast in that fight.
so has the gamebreaking red door glitch arrived at m2k2 yet?
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I don't think anybody has mentioned it yet, but it's only a matter of time.
I found out about the door glitch yesterday. Here's a blip for those that haven't seen the write up:

Huh. Never happened to me. But the fact that that door can be red means that if we DID get up that ledge on the other side of the door early, we couldn't go any further. Yet another precaution against sequence breaking. Thanks, assholes.
No. Apparently it's a glitch that was caused by a recent wii system update.

or so they say.
Apparently the glitch happens if you beat the boss, then backtrack to a save, then continue going forward.

You wouldn't need to go that way anyways. Ridley is through a different door.
Phoenix
Yes but who knows what would happen if you went backwards through that area? It could screw up event flags and lead to some kind of break.

To follow up, I checked and there's no Overblast cue in the Deleter-BOX fight, even when you stand right next to it. Definitely meant as a surprise for Theater viewers. I'll check the lava monster next time through.
The lava monster DEFINITELY has an overblast cue.
Phoenix
Huh... I don't even remember how I knew to Overblast the Deleter-mech the first time. I guess I just figured that when X enemy falls over stunned/frozen, time for a cinematic finisher.
Searched around on youtube a little, found this video:
