Thanks for the explanation.  In terms of overflowing the object count the chainsaw Pbomb freezes the game when a Kung Fu Space Pirate attempts to change color and forces the object array to overflow.
Also, I was messing around with the Space/Time beam and found that using it in Crocomire's Room reliably sent me into the room to the left with moderate glitchiness throughout the whole grappling beam area.  You can collect the items and save which would provide an alternative strategy for NBMB.
The room with the "picky chozo" has a similar Space/Time connection to the room with the Golden Chozo.  So one could Space/Time in get the missile and Super Missile, Space/Time out and then ceiling jump through the block that the Chozo normally removes to raise NBMB to 83%.  The positioning is a bit tricky and I've only gotten in and out in the same run once and personally cannot ceiling jump at all.

Although it should be noted that secret realms can take the NBMB up to 98%, but avoiding such, it's still 73%. That is, if I'm correct in assuming your space/time beam sends you to another room for no clear reason.
Almost happy
Then which items can't be taken? I guess that Gravity should be impossible because I heard someone say it doesn't load unless you kill phantoon... I presume that almost (if not absolutely) all of those extra items can be taken by using space/time beam and x-ray climb.

Phantoon's death state could probably be triggered with the space-time beam
Almost happy
You're probably right, I'm not very learned in the uses of the Space/time beam so I have no idea though.

We should probably ask Kejardon, but as little as I know about the space-time beam I have my big doubts about it being able to trigger Phantoon's death state.

Kej?
Almost happy
Well I would not be surprised if it could do that, it can after all trigger the escape Zebes state and god knows what.

I am not interested in sifting through the mess that is the space/time beam.
But if it can make Zebes blow up, it only needs to corrupt ~10 more bytes to kill Phantoon as well.

This might be known, but if you Shinespark about a half second before the Dachora does, you can get him to the upper section of the room. If you haven't destroyed the blocks on the left, he does a short-charge. grin new

Yeah I noticed, and I'm very jealous. :^( That super tank in SMI is taunting me.
The X-Ray trick for killing Draygon works for the Murder Beam too. So you can kill Ridley very quickly using it because Ridley doesn't absorb the Murder Ball.
Would that be of any use in 100% run? Does it only work on the murder beam ball or the whole murder beam?

Have you tested how fast can you kill Ridley with this.
I kinda tested this.  It looks like Ridley takes hits in a proximity of the screen, such as near the floor where you release the Murder Beam/Ball -but it's invisible (as usual I guess).  And Ridley appears to keep taking hits when you activate the X-Ray Scope (-he's flashing).  He did eventually die without me attacking him.  But I'm still not sure if it's all that faster.

Tested some more...

What's weird is sometimes he doesn't seem to take any hits when he should be flying through where you released the Murder Beam...  Or 'Ball' in this case. :?

Alright.  I'm not sure what's going on or how (and if it) works.  It definetly is doing something.  Whenever it hits Ridley it seems to be random.  But I'm not sure.

Wow, easiest suitless fight EVER. Do any ASM hackers know Ridley's invincibility time (and the damage per frame of murder beam)?
You don't need to be a hacker to know that.

Ridley's invincibility time is 17 frames, and the murder beam does 100 damage per hit.

As far as a 100% run goes, I dobur ir would be very useful, because, even with amazing timing, you'd only be able to cause about 300 damage/second, and seeing as Ridley has 18000HP, that would make the fight a minute long.  100% run Ridley fights should be half that, at least.  Not to mention the time lost grabbing xray early.

This is because Ridley's tail moves the beam to the position of the tail every time the beam hits it. It also marks the beam to be deleted, but the glitch beams never call the proper code to check that so they're never deleted that way.
yeah
I was playing around with the glitched beams on Super Metroid, and accidentally unequipped the Spazer immediately after firing the Murder Beam. Then this happened.

...*waits for someone to reply*
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I found an absolutely useless little thing that probably has something to do with either bad flags or Snes9x+save state GG codes. Basically, freezing an enemy, then unequipping the Ice Beam causes the enemy to unfreeze.

Short video...

I'm not sure if it'll work on anything else, or without the codes I'm using (those are the reason for the weird digits in that video for SMiss and PB counts).

It's known already.
Frozen enemies use the same colors as Samus's beams. If Samus doesn't have the ice beam equipped, they'll be colored oddly, so the solution the game uses is to just unfreeze them.
yeah
And again, I'm completely ignored.  Evil or Very Mad

Well, the space-time beam is completely boring. I'm sure Kej will emphisize this point for me in a few moments
yeah

But it's not the spacetime beam. It's a new glitch that I discovered.

Try doing that without the the space-time beam then :P

You mean Murder beam?
Well, I don't have Zsnes, and so can't view zmvs, but if I were to guess, I'd say it's probably an emulator-specific glitch, espeially since you said it doesn't work consistently.
