btw has anyone else looked through the concept art. there's one image that to me looks like Samus running pretty fast. so maybe speed booster was planned?
kinda sucks that it got cut. speed booster is one of my favorites. I guess the new trick with spider ball and power bombs is kinda like a shinespark though
I've heard the 3D is actually pretty spot on with all those background going-ons. I always thought it was hella cool when I managed to glimpse something huge wandering around back there.
Also I'm pretty sure that instead of speed boost they added in the time slowdown. Did anyone use that much outside of getting a few items? I never used it for boss battles when I was conserving Aeion for lightning armor.
It was cool how they mixed Super's theme's with M2 stuff but using some Prime SFX is lazy. the game start jingle is ~5 notes long, just bash out another in 5mins.
Using Prime SFX was 'lazy' I guess but not an unwanted sound imo. I loved hearing those sound effects again after almost 10 years of not really playing the prime games outside of casually and it was a nice throw back. It's probably to help prepare and get ready since there will be a new prime game hopefully releasing in the next year or so.
Nintendo has a history of releasing Metroid games mid-November; I think most of the system titles especially the Prime titles are all November releases? So I was guessing that.
So far, Nintendo appears to be like 'yeah maybe we fucked up?' and I dont really need to acknowledge its existence much if at all in the greater scheme of the storyline. Because Samus has a certain attitude before Other M and after Other M which means theres no heavy changes that effect anything I care about, Samus Returns doesnt foreshadow or even hint towards Other M, and instead hints towards Super Metroid and Fusion so.
