You know painting/drawing by hand doesn't restrict you to realism right? Just so we're all on the same page.

now it's one of my least favorite genres in pretty much any medium

I agree but it has very little to do with the fact that it's sci-fi and more to do with the fact that very little sci-fi is really good.
red chamber dream
yeah that's probably why considering some of my favorite stuff ever is sci fi

i do prefer digital art like poision.

but i prefer more gritty art like this:

there were some art from EVE: online that looks awesome, but they changed the pictures and can't seem to find them anywhere.

i am also a fan of most of the dark horse comics styles and Heavy Metal comic style.
It's been 2 days since they gave away those 250 special AR cards at nintendo world, and nobody has scanned it and posted it online yet. This kind of worries me, as that's the only way I'm going to get one.  nintendo has a pic of it on their site, but the part which is recognized by scanning is edited out.  Damn.
red chamber dream
don't worry, in like three months you'll forget they even exist
Indie Lover
who remembers this?:

i think i will play it again Very Happy

maybe write a opinion about that awesome underrated games of the 16-bit era, like voltman, ristar and evo: search for eden...
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Go for it.
Ah, Ristar. That game is pretty darn cool. Looks and sounds really good for a Genesis game.

yeah man, i'd definitely love to post something like that on gamelogs.

i'm actually working on the first entry in an editorial called "overlooked", which covers older games (whether good or bad) that many people might not have played. so what you're talking about could be posted as an overlooked article.

btw if anyone else wants to write about an overlooked game i'd be happy to post it too.
I once thought of posting an opinion piece on whether games in the future should lean more towards gameplay and entertaining the player or being more about artistic expression, but in retrospect that would have been kicking a dead dog.
red chamber dream
why?
It's a lot more subjective than I realized at the time. I mean, I always lean towards the gameplay side, but it's a lot less black and white to some people.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Opinions are subjective.
