i would totally play an hp rpg, but i think it would only work if you play as a new student or something, and it has nothing to do with the plots of the books

No I did not read the books, but I can sit here and think of a huge number of cheesy things about hp that I refuse the believe are not in the books.

anyone into 3ds homebrew? I was going to hack my extra 3ds xl but every tutorial I can find is dated and terrible. Can anyone point me to a current and reliable source?

You don't really "hack" it as far as I'm aware. You need to get yourself a flashcart. This appears to be the best one available right now.

Nobody is using flash cards with the 3ds anymore as it's completely unnecessary due to the fact that there's a removable SD card. You can't still play 3ds roms afaik - but I don't want to anyways. There's a homebrew launcher that you load, and from there there are several methods by which you access the emulators and roms, like via the internet browser, the youtube app, Ocarina of Time save file, but the best one hacks into the theme feature of your 3ds so when you turn it on it already has all your icons ready to go. You can even use the eshop via homebrew now. Because everything changes so fast, I can't find a tutorial where all the info is still valid and I end up getting lost despite all these kids telling me how easy it is.

This is going to sound stupid because it is, but what exactly is the ROOT of my sd card? I thought it was the very highest level on the card, like right now when I look at my sd card there's a folder called 'nintendo 3ds', and that folder is IN the root of the SD card, is it not?

Dishonored is cool. I don't know how well it works if you play it as more of a straight action game, a stealthy no-kill run is fun and cool though. But the levels are pretty well designed for however you want to approach the game I think.

If he's looking at the "enhanced" next gen port though, tell him to save his money and get the last gen version for dirt cheap. They up-res'd it and that's literally all. The framerate isn't even better.

In honor of David Bowie, Square Enix is giving out free Steam codes for Omikron: The Nomad Soul until the 22nd. I hear it's a pretty interesting head trip, and it's a nice gesture on Square's part.

I linked to the US store but it's available in other territories as well.
