I just can't seem to get that one bug out. Either some flaw in my logic has escaped the dozen-odd attempts at correction or it's a problem with Game Maker's ability to process it. I just don't know which one is more likely, because both seem equally (im)plausible. >_>
This is getting ridiculous. I've tweaked every variable I can imagine and even added a momentum system to try and prevent the aforementioned glitch, but it can still apparently occur? Until I think of yet another potential solution, I'mma have to chalk it up to Game Maker being unable to handle as many simultaneous operations as I want it to in that instance.
Mind, having the momentum physics in place has drastically improved the feel of the engine anyway, so it wasn't a wasted effort.
Nope. That probably would've been helpful, and my code is so cluttered with attempts to fix that issue now.
I... I think I've actually figured it out, though. Just another idea in a long line of brute forcing it, I guess a solution finally fit the puzzle. Still not entirely sure why this one worked and others didn't. I'm also not entirely sure that it is fixed, being one of those bugs that wasn't I couldn't recreate consistently even when I knew it existed.
Nah, haven't been to the GM forums in yeeeears, back in the days of GM7. Of course, yoyogames.com is having some troubles right now anyway because of their recent partnership with Humble Bundle that cut the cost of Studio and Android export module by a couple hundred dollars.
So I was at Wal-Mart passing by the amiibo section, and amidst their usual selection of a million Bowsers, Peaches, and Luigis, there was one lone Zero Suit Samus. I have no idea how rare she is, but I've never seen her before and I wanted her anyway so I grabbed it. Now I'm faced with the dilemma off opening it or not. Normally I hate the idea of buying something just to never open it on the chance it's going be worth a bazillion dollars, but the way amiibos are going it's actually more likely than normal. Right now she's only around $25 on ebay, which is not worth the resale at all, but if I open it and demand skyrockets to like $100+ like it has with some others I'm going to feel like a huge asshole.
Looking around on ebay, it seems like you can get even Marth and Villager for around $25 these days so I'm probably fretting over nothing. Looks like that scalping bubble has burst.
Haha, I just opened up a ZSS a friend got me straight away. But I was never into the collecting aspect anyway. Only one I ever bought myself was Samus because I like Samus.
I've come to respect the mechanics of KH2 the past couple years watching Bizkit do speedruns of it. The balance of character:enemy stats is a little off and it gets button-mashy as a result, but the Final Mix version/Critical mode takes care of that and lets the subtleties shine through a bit more. It used to be my least favorite entry in the series but the only part I find really grating about it now is the absurd number of retcons and contrivances Nomura had to shoehorn in order to keep the story going after KH1.
