I don't know, every game made at the time used basically the same filter, comes off as less of a style and more like the continued adventures in making games look bland as fuck.
The most scared I've ever been in a video game was playing oblivion ironically. I was adventuring through a cave trying to be all sneaky, everything was dark, and it was 3am on a week night so I had to be extra sneaky since my parents would kill me. I went down some stairs and a dude jumped out from behind them and I yelled, threw my mouse off my desk and proceeded to pull the power cord out of my computer and pretend like I was asleep having a night mare or something.
haha I lived with my parents in my NES days. I had insomnia and typically laid in bed for hours trying to sleep on weeknights, but I never played video games after bedtime even though I had a TV and the NES right there in my room. My mom would have been too angry if she caught me, so I just never went there.
I had my computer gameboy, everything taken away so many times for getting caught on it when I wasn't supposed to be. Eventually during late middle school they were just like, fine, whatever, you'll learn on your own.
and then I had horrible sleep schedules where I'd sleep when I got home from school, wake up, play video games all day and night, and do homework at school. Good times.
my college sleep schedule was the best though. I had mostly online classes and I could stay up for ~30 hours at once, sleep for 12, and repeat. The only time it really screwed me over was when I went to see the Avengers with friends and I passed out in the theatre really really hard, woke up an hour later, and threw up in the bathroom for some reason. I didn't even eat the popcorn, I was just super sick feeling and I think it was my body's way of rejecting itself after having that schedule for a solid month or two.
i remember being tired a lot in college from frequently staying up until 4 am, but it never started to make me feel crappy until i get got older ... now i can't stay up late at all unless i want to be wrecked the next day ;(
I feel tired for a long time if I go off of my schedule too much. I definitely have the most energy when I go to bed and get up at the same time every day.
my girlfriend's current schedule is just totally fucked. She goes to bed atl ike 11am, wakes up 3-4 hours later, eats lunch then goes back to bed and gets another 4-5 hours of sleep. I guess if she feels good then that's fine, but damn.
