Yep, apparently the latest tricks in that run were only weeks old at the time, including a way to bring RPG ammo into the tank level for a quicker kill.

wow that's awesome

that was the level where i dropped through the floor into a secret world during the marathon run - only time it's ever happened to me. i wouldn't be surprised if that level had a lot of other bugs too though

There seem to be a crazy number of bugs that allow for that sort of thing, like to the point where they theorize that because the whole area map is loaded during the very first intro sequence, you could potentially skip to the second half of the game right away.  Though it is a testament to Naughty Dog that none of these glitches got in the way of the game's experience.

The Cultist boss, though.  :c

interesting, i would love to know the mechanics behind what makes you fall out of the map because it seemed totally random to me

and yeah those games must have had tons of playtesting because i never experienced a single bug during my initial playthrough, in any of the uncharted games. naughty dog is truly a top tier talent, unparalleled in the industry right now.

safe to say uncharted 4 is my most anticipated game by far ...
I like turtles.
I would be anticipating it a bit more if I owned the system it's going to be on.  Sad

hey, you might by next fall!
I like turtles.
I would probably just decide to go full PC Master Race at this point if not for KH3 and Uncharted 4.

i would if it literally weren't for physical reasons. can't be bothered to sit in my computer chair all day when i could be playing consoles on my couch

that is the #1 reason i don't play more pc games ... my pc isn't even hooked up anymore since i moved my desk out into my living room
red chamber dream
was going to buy a separate desk for it, but meh ... maybe when heroes vii comes out
Wow.  Well would you look at that.  https://games.yahoo.com/news/nintendos-playstation-holy-grail-game-142200344.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=fb&fb_ref=Default

huh, I've never even heard of that before. Pretty neat read.

the little bit explaining how Nintendo shamed sony is also pretty funny. Like damn. Can't even imagine what that was like to see Sony be all like "Yeah so we're partnering up with Nintendo to make this thing check it out wow so cool" and then later that day Nintendo is like "Uh yeah so we aren't partnering with Sony we're partnering with Phillips doing our own thing, Kthxbai"

like you'd have thought they would have had contracts in place or SOMEthing to prevent that. damn.

It's incredible how pivotal that day has been for gaming.  If nintendo had paired with Sony, then the sony we know of today would have never came to be.  The decision to go with Philips was a disaster too.  I knew that nintendo and sony were going to be partners before sony decided to take on gaming by themselves, but I never knew this prototype existed.

one of the dumbest decisions nintendo ever made heh (for them at least)
To be fair, Nintendo was already using Sony-manufactured parts in SNES production. Sony also published several games on the SNES as well.
red chamber dream
yeah that's why chose sony to partner with originally
They dropped out because they didn't want to end up in a position where they would have needed to become a subsidiary of Sony just to keep their business running.

Is what I heard, and sounds legit. Sony's huge. You think they wouldn't have eaten Nintendo eventually?
That sounds pretty plausible. I mean, look at the PS1's success. That was mostly thanks to Sony's insane marketing power.
I remember when the PS1 came out.  Compact Disc technology was still new, and people were fascinated by it.  CD meant better music, better video, better everything.  It was a major selling point vs. nintendo's cartridges.  That's just how people thought at the time.
red chamber dream
it's not how i thought, haha. i remember playing a playstation for the first time and daaaaamn those load times + ugly visuals

don't think i understood it was because of the disc, but i never had any interest in playstation for a long time because of that first impression
I don't think I ever heard anyone complain about load times in that era.  You are a master complainer!
People who played lots of PC games back then definitely complained about the PS1's graphics.

no, you just weren't paying attention. the playstation is well known for its long load times, and disc-based games always have been. it's the entire reason nintendo stuck with cartridges.
Well, part of it. The other reason was piracy.
