It's not so much that I care for the series but that I want a good modern run and gun FPS to come out. Doom mods are nice and all, but I want something more high-tech and pretty, you know?

Also, Doom 3 was alright. It did its own thing rather than try to channel the older games in the series.

I don't know the second bit of footage they showed looked like pretty much that run and gun FPS you want. lol at the dudes freezing when the weapon wheel comes up though, console babies.

I liked how Doom 4 looked. Really kinetic and frantic and gory, which is pretty much how Doom should be as opposed to generic space horror.

Idk, you should check out the recent remake of Shadow Warrior. It is absolutely a modern old school fps and very fun.

Just watched nintendo world 'championship'. The super metroid part was unwatchable. Apparently half of the champions don't know that it takes missiles to break mother brain's glass, and none of them know that samus can aim diagonally.
