Super Mario Land (on the gameboy) was my first ever video game. And honestly, it's even more bizare than the other marios. Mario ARRIVES BY SPACE SHIP to world 1-4, after going through an Egyptian tomb in 1-3. And then Daisy turns into a fly. Fire spitting seahorses. Weird robots. Black goombas. Turtles that turned into bombs when they die.

It was weird as fuck, but as a kid, I loved it and never even thought about who or what made it.

Super fucked up game, but I love it. It was also my first videogame (along with Tetris).

haha I remember the gameboy seemed so advanced.  The only portable games I played before that were the kind that you could play on a watch or the some weird football game where you just controlled a little green '-' symbol and made tried to move it past all the other green '-' symbols without touching them to make a touchdown.  When I got a gameboy it seemed like it was star trek level technology.  Now it just looks like crap lol

Yeah cause I mean, in theeeeory we could vastly slow down our perception of time, right? so we could play holodeck-skyrim for 100 hours straight and only 15 minutes in real life time would actually pass. Man, it's gonna be so crazy. I can only hope that I get to live long enough to experience it, and that some shit like WW3 or a global economy meltdown doesn't stop it. Pretty sure rationally the world leaders could exchange world peace for getting to bang sweet alien babes in virtual reality 24/7. Or furries for those other guys.

The Wii U can outsell the Vita on a weekly basis but still have less units shipped due to the Vita being on the market much longer (and with neither system selling that quickly anyways it could take a while to close the gap).

Also, VGChartz is pretty infamous for getting their data completely wrong. These numbers look pretty close to the official ones, but I'd be wary of any data from that site.

I really like the WiiU.  I love the off-tv play feature.  The tablet feels like a handheld, yet I already have a nintendo handheld, so why can't they merge the two somehow?

Yup, fuck Yooka Laylee and Mighty No. 9, this is the spiritual successor kick starter I have all the hype for.

Although I love this trend of kick starter projects that give the finger to big developers.

Anyway if the final product looks half as good as that concept art then I will be thrilled.

I'm also starting to love this kickstarter trend.  I like to fantasize about the developers seeing the response and feeling like idiots, but I really have no idea if the numbers are of any revelation to them.  In any case, it's good news for someone like me who likes these retro genre games more than newer stuff.  I can only hope that more of these come up and that the games that come out of them do very well.

weird, this is the only one of the 3 i don't care about all. kind of lame how he already had a publisher and was going to get the game made but did a kickstarter anyway
