You can't make the game be super stereotypically Mexican and not make the lead a luchador, and you can't make him a luchador without having some kind of melee combat. That's just the rules of the universe. Read A Brief History of Time, it explains all that somewhere I'm like 95% sure.
I'm gonna hold out until I see what other games have been added. The only one that really tempts me right now is Mighty Switch Force, but as it is I've got a huge backlog to play already.
Anyone know where I can find a Zero Mission cart for maybe a bit cheaper than what eBay users seem to want ($20-25)? I've been wanting access to a physical copy for a while.
That still seems high, but I'm guessing it's because the game isn't available on VC in NA. I have on physical copy that I bought in Dover, England and one Japanese copy that I bought on ebay. Can't remember what I paid for either.
I've got a $15 auction (so far) on eBay but I'm sure the guy who has met my max bid and not gone higher yet is waiting to snipe that in another day and a half. Even Amazon is kind of high thanks to the shipping costs, so I guess I'm looking at more or less the same price tag anywhere. I do have a gift card for the latter that I haven't used...
It's an example of the power of branding right up there with groceries that have double the price tags of their cheaper alternatives. I mean, I'm still going to buy it, but I might end up having gotten the DS Lite I'm gonna play it on for less money.
i don't think it has much to do with branding. it's all supply and demand, right? maybe branding has something to do with people not wanting to sell their copies (fanboy love for nintendo?), but i think it's more that nintendo makes good, high quality games that people want even years after release. i mean you want a copy of zm because it's a good game, not because it's made by nintendo. many other people feel the same way. so there's high demand and little supply, which means costs go up.
That's very true, it's more about that for most people. I guess I just meant from the perspective of an eBay seller who knows he can charge higher for it. Of course, it is worth that much in this case, I'm just cheap with everything.
that doesn't make any sense - nintendo makes $0 off every used game sale. i would think they'd rather have downloadable games up as soon as possible so they could continue charging people full price for new copies.
I mean I can't imagine Nintendo ever has a surplass of game carts for their first party games, not even sure why they'd stop making new ones to begin with, clearly there's still demands for them.
Seems like it wouldn't be hard to just have a factory that continously prints their first party games, and even if retailers like gamestop stop selling them for some reason, just sell them directly.
The number of people interested in buying games from decades ago is probably not as high as one might believe.
Also, selling roms digitally is way cheaper for them lol
I've often wondered how big the retro gaming scene is, and the thing that makes me wonder is all these retro gaming stores in my town. Some of them are huge. They don't sell roms of course, they sell carts for everything from colecovision to PS2. They do sell new stuff, but very little of it. They have to be selling a lot of games because they do buy a lot. There's a bunch of these stores in my suburb alone.
In other news, I took advantage of that humble nindie bundle deal. It's still on for another 8 days. I paid $1 and I got Guacamelee, Mighty Switch Force, and Woah Dave.
