The internet defending a terrible anime game?! Shocker!
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
i never saw any big hype for Other M. it looked like standard Metroid hype.

The only real hype I remember for Other M was the fact that it was a joint development with Team Ninja. Well, that and this was supposed to explain the entire backstory/origin for Samus, which it only touched upon in the grand scheme of things.

how come skyrim is 5gb while arkam city is 16? and shogun2 is 20...

Skyrim is extremely small because it's a console port. Witcher 2 was something like 25GB, SWTOR is 45GB, etc. Skyrim is the only RPG in the last 4 years to be under 10GB.
Where did you get SWTOR being 45 GB? It's around 19-20 for me, although that's still a lot more than the 5 of Skyrim so I guess it doesn't really matter.

But yeah, a lot of high profile games are getting enormous these days. Side effect of high res textures, voice overs, pre-rendered cutscenes, and most other staples of modern day gaming.

So is Arkham City.

A lesson for the future: File size doesn't necessarily say much about the size of the actual game. It heavily depends how the game is implemented. If you have games with extremely large landscapes chances are that much stuff is procedurally generated, can be higher on the processing part but lowers memory.

Here you have a 96k game, and it's a fps. Most of you guys today wouldn't believe it is possible.

my friend's folder is 45GB. I'm wondering now though if the beta data is still there, which would make sense for doubling the size.

Skyrim is just small because of the way they handled the textures for the game. Todd did a whole little interview thing in response to people freaking out about its small size. If I wasn't a lazy ass I'd link it, but I doubt anyone cares anyway.

a really well done console port though.

i don't know how much space a high-rez texture pack takes, but i almost sure the skyrim folder don't get near 16gb...

oh well, whatever, it's just sad that i will need 2 or 3 days t download this...
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I remember playing .kkrieger a few years back.  It's certainly impressive.  I seem to remember the textures were all stored as text?
You can use creation history to store textures. But the main point is that textures and geometry are interpreted from functions.  It is very likely that the meshes are constructed just by deformed basic solids.

What you see is a cool piece of tech.

Also, this:

it seems like a good idea, but i dunno, it's seems strange, also i used this video to determine that i am playing too much sengoku basara/samurai warriors. I recognized all of the sengoku heroes...

Well, Skyrim is 33% off and I just can't not take that deal.

Prototype is also only $7 iirc. That's a really damn good game for what it is, very much worth $7.

I felt really bad for not buying some of these really-good-deal games so instead I'm sending Gaben a merry-christmas email. (even though I've gifted more games in the past week than I've bought on steam the past two months, I think I've gifted about $65 so far, mostly all just $5 games). I just feel like it's a waste of money for me to buy a single player game (eg prototype) when instead I can pirate it AND gift it to my friend(s) for the same price. You could say the fun *puts on glasses* is doubled in the process.
i'm going to hell
