think f3 is the only bethesda game i've played but yeah i dunno, i'm not really into that sort of huge open world type of game i guess

would like to try oblivion sometime soon though

Oblivion is fun enough if you're into that kind of game, but sweet merciful Talos, is the level-up system broken.  That's why I really want to play Skyrim, which supposedly has fixed the glaring mechanical problems of its predecessor.

anything that is not made by beth maybe? after playing skyrim the skill system of fallout is very shoddy...

i wanted something with the level of customization of dungeons of dredmor, you have almost 20 completely diferent skill tress and almost infinite ways of playing the game... fallout is basically, ranged weapons or melee weapons and that is that....

i want something where you have a big pool of skill to choose from so i can tailo the game to my liking...
it don't need to be sandbox BTW...

Indie Lover
i played diablo 1 and 2 so many times that i really didn't want to go back to it... but maybe...

also, why the hell blizzard stop being a douche and put their games in steam? It would make my life a lot easier...

well, maybe is time to finish vampire: the masquerade then, it's the only game of the type that i remembered...

bioshock i already played too, but maybe i will play 2 again, deus ex... maybe i will play invisible war again.

and no pokemon for the time being, i am too perfectionist with pokemon and i don't have time to train my dream team ofr the 15th time...

in the end, i think i will go back to cosmo breaker...

also a drillboid ripoff:

it seems someone want a piece of the terraria pie...
My poor sweetie picks up RPG's every time we go to the game store because he likes the names and/or cover art.  I have to tell him it's an RPG so he has to put it back.  He refuses to read an instruction booklet even on a simple game, so I know he doesn't want a game with a big learning curve.  He sees action-cutscenes of these games on TV and thinks that they must be realistic looking zeldas! and he gets all excited.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Quote from TheGreenManalishi:
Fallout 3 seemed a little bit complicated to me, but I'm someone who never really plays rpgs at all. I felt all the body parts stuff and stats stuff was just getting in the way of a sandbox post-apocalypse fps.

I haven't played Fallout 3 but New Vegas supposedly works the same way so it probably looks more complicated than it actually is. Things do pretty much exactly what they say they do, there's a lot of stuff to do/pick up/whatever so it can seem a bit overwhelming when you start out but it sort itself out pretty quickly once you get going. Maybe New Vegas is just a better game though!

I'm not sure what other forms of combat there are...? But if you aren't talking your way into and out of everything with Speech, Barter, and/or whatever other skill checks come up you're playing the game completely wrong. You fight because you want to not because the other guy said so and that's pretty boss.

anyone know a game that have lots of character customization (preferably with equipment customization that appears on the char) that is not overly complex that feels like you're always doing something wrong?

damn, everytime i hear a new song of anamanaguchi i fall in love with it, well, i do love 8-bit-like music

also J_snake asked something to me, i think it was about complexity in games, but my fish brain don't remember what it was, and i too forgot to answer... sorry aiwebs_007

Diablo 2? Torchlight? WoW, Skyrim, etc

steam finally started their winter sale. so many good deals jesus.

they're also doing a thing where if you get certain achievments in games then you get a free steam gift, which can be anything from a free game to 25-50% off anything in their store. The catch though is you have to buy the game to be able to get the achievement.

The crafty bastards, making me buy games and having fun so that they can profit. May they burn softly in company hell.

Grand prize is everything on Steam.  Like, everything.  Not that it wouldn't be awesome, but who actually has the time to play that many games?
red chamber dream
does sale even mean anything on steam anymore? there's always a ton of shit on sale.

not that that's a bad thing.
red chamber dream
but i do like how the stroefront just has a bunch of cover art images with no way of telling what game they represent without clicking on them. so easy to use.

usually for this winter sale each day they choose 8 big-name titles and drop them 75%, whereas witht he normal sales the mid-week madness ones are just "meh" 50% off stuff.

No discounts on Skyrim, though.  :(
