Ditto on that story except we never had a nes, because we were probably too young and didn't really know what games were at the age of 2 or 3 lol. But we caned the Sega master system (with built in alex the kid Very Happy) when I was about 4 or 5 until we bought a snes, and the rest is history. Gamecube came along at a time when my interest in games went down a bit. After having Perfect dark on N64 and all the other fantastic Rareware games on N64 I was still quite content to keep playing them all. My brother got a Gamecube but I never really hit it off with that console in the same way. Obviously played the two primes quite a bit but other than that, nothing. The wii on the other hand is mine and I've played it a fair bit but that's mostly Super metroid on virtual console. I still got the Goldeneye remake to play.

i play it almost daily, and i still have more than 5 games that i still want to finish.

everytime i see the other 2 exclusives are like 90% are FPSes, which i don't really like, while nintendo games are way more diversified and more to my liking...

most ppl that say don't play on the wii (unwillingly) are huge fans of FPS, or just didn't look hard enough at the libary...

Hehe, this is brilliant. aiwebs_004

Of course, it will still have the problem of how it will detect who is pirating, so I can't see how it's any different to normal.

it's like lord of the rings: return of the king, where you would be struck playing as sam in all the stages...

nintendo makes up like 90% of all my gaming. Wii = SMG 1&2, Mp Trilogy, TP, RE4, and several VC games. Then there's all the handheld games.  The only handheld games I play are nintendo ones - never owned a handheld device other than ninty's.  Gamecube library is huge.  99% of emu games are ninty ones.  My PS3 mostly gets dusty.

Oh, and btw, this forum is dedicated to a ninty game, and the discussion of SS is more in depth than any new game for quite a while - so I'm just surprised on the ninty hate.

It's probably because they've always been on such a pedestal, so when they have a lull in brilliance, everybody gets the grumps. aiwebs_004

Hey, Sam is awesome so I'd welcome that if it happened. (Favorite LOTR character)

But yeah, that is probably one of the best ways to deter people from pirating a game: Bring in the highly speedy, highly annoying enemy that will not stop in its pursuit to take you down. Oh yeah, did I mention it can't die?

It is brilliant compared to most other anti-pirating ideas developers have had over the years.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
The best anti piracy thing in a game was in Earthbound though, unusally high enemy concentrations everywhere and if you did finally make it to the final boss it straight up freezes and and erases your save data after the first form.

Arkham Asylum comes close, though, as apparently the game would spawn false grapple points that would send you to inescapable places in the middle of nowhere.
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
the one in pokemon BW was funny because it caught several websites off guard ("the pokes no longer earn experience")
Couldn't remember exactly what it did, but yeah, Earthbound was the one I was thinking of as far as best anti-piracy method.

That pokemon one is pretty good too, but people have tried to play RPGs without leveling before so in some ways they might consider that a challenge.

I always thought the best anti-piracy DRM would be something that you couldn't even tell exists until you're too far into the game. EG making the final boss unkillable and when he kills you it erases all your save data or something.

GTA IV had a pretty amusing anti-piracy, the camera would start swaying and it would be very hard to control cars. I think it was something like the "drunk cam" DRM.

but then the player got to play nearly the entire game without paying for it. to be most efective wouldn't drm just prevent you from playing entirely?

the best DRM would turn the game into a "alice in wonderland" making everything crazy and completely non-sense to the point of being unplayable.

things like, there is a immortal enemy that need you to commit suicide to kill it, and then you becomes a chicken that shoot little homing cats that heal the enemies...

A-Team you uncultured urchin.

Although to be fair that guy actually hit a target he was aiming for and so he's well overqualified for the A-Team.

yeah, BF3
So wait... did he just stall the jet, eject out of it, blow up an enemy with a rocket launcher while shooting up into the sky, and then come back down to land on the side of the jet and get back in the cockpit to start piloting again?

If so, I gotta admit that is quite creative.

yeah, moments like that are what seperate the multiplayer side of BF3 from the CoD games. With CoD the most actiony you can get is "oh dude I totally got this huge chian of kills, like I killed a guy with a grenade and then sniped and took his shotgun and killed 5 more guys". With BF3 though you get crazy stuff like that.

Getting in a helicopter, taking down another heli, then after your helicopter takes hits you can jump out with an rpg, blow up a tank as you're parachuting to the ground, switch to an smg, land, and then take out 4 more infantry. True story, I've almost done it twice now.

i gotta admit while the entire scene made me sad (really? a game that tried to be realistic lets you do something like that?) i gotta admit this guy have balls and skill...
Heh, I was just thinking how this is the type of move I'd expect somebody in Planetside to have pulled off back in the day. Maybe not the same exact trick, but insane vehicle maneuvers like this one.

Man, I miss that game. Good thing they're working on PS2.
