oh, no I'm totally positive they didn't build the game with the PC in mind, but they made sure as hell to make it easy to mod so the PC people can fix what mistakes they made.
And yeah Ark it was aimed towards the 360 over the others.

But what's really terrible, and I mean mindbogglingly terrible, is the level up/perk selection screen. Whoever got that through should be fired on the spot.

Yeah okay I agree 100% on this note, god that menu is so damn bad. It's like they took fallout 3's and said "You know what? this menu isn't FUN enough, lets make it FUN by addings stars n shit. The kids'll love that shit!"

shame, I can't imagine putting less than 100 hours into it, especially since I'm done with classes come monday.

Of course though Saints Row the Third is out now and I still need to waste a good 30 hours in that too. Also thinking about dropping games for awhile come new years, just to see if other entertainment/hobbies are as good as el vidyo. Spoiler: probably not.

if you love gaming, why stop? this makes as much sense as ppl that think they can't grow-up and still play pokemon, or that guys shouldn't watch my little pony...

and well, it's good that you like elder scrolls that much, i will keep myself busy playing terraria 1.1, arkam city and divinity 2.
Club 27 Goals
ooo divinity 2, that's another game I've been meaning to give another shot at.

It's not really so much that I think I've outgrown gaming, but more of it's starting to feel like I don't do enough other productive things with my time especially now that classes have gotten out. And by productive I don't mean working or something, but I'd like to get back into art for awhile and maybe teach myself some network/programming stuff in preparation for next semester. But mostly for the drawing and art.

I also figured winter break would be the optimal time to get out and do something different for awhile, just to mix things up. No big games are coming out for awhile, everyone has lots of time off from work and school, and the weather makes it awesome to bundle up in a room and being all cozy and just doing whatever.

so yeah, it isn't like I'm going to stop gaming or that I think I've outgrown it, but more like I just want to mix things up since it's starting to feel repetitive and less exciting because of that.

edit: aww, no quad combo for avatars.
Anything that you want to do which is enjoyable and healthy - go for it!  If gaming is becoming less enjoyable, then shift towards something else.  I always will feel that it is healthy because it keeps our minds in good shape.  It is possible to do so much gaming that you neglect your physical health, but that's pretty extreme.

Yeah it just feels like it's getting dull as of late. It wouldn't be the first time I've taken a break, last time I got together with a friend and we got internet-famous for a week because of some videos we made, lol.

I'm sure I'll be back, especially once Diablo 3 gets released. That'll probably absorb my life.
My sweetie and I have 2 copies of SS to pick up on sunday morning.  Gonna put dinner in the crock pot before we even go get the games, so I won't have to stop to cook. I have also procured a hefty supply of potent party favors to keep us high as a kite. We can basically play until our eyeballs fall out.  I stopped checking out the game after watching the first trailer in order to not spoil it, so I'm in for a lot of surprises.  I won't even read the reviews, I just see the scores but don't read the article.  I can't wait to have a new setting to explore!  I don't think I'm getting any sleep on saturday night.  I feel like a kid on xmas!
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Taking long breaks from video games is pretty cool. Thi8nk I spent more time playing video games in the week I've had Arkham City than I spent with any video games the whole rest of the year combined.

I've probably talked about how shitty games are more than I've played them this year. :v
I'm gonna finally play arkham asylum and arkham city for the first time once I get over SS.
Club 27 Goals
They're pretty damn good. Or at least Asylum is, but everything I've heard about cities is that it's asylum but just better. Def one of the games I went to try out for a weekend too sometime when it's on sale.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Make sure you do it in that order, it's basically impossible to go back from City. Too many changes for the better.

I made the decision when I flipped through the latest issue of Game Informer.  I saw that they gave SS a score of 10, which is quite rare.  I then saw that they gave Arkham City a 10 as well.  If they're saying those games are on par with something like Zelda then I think it's a safe bet that I might like it.

Yeah I definitely plan to play them in order.
Indie Lover
i don't how city is, but asylum is very similar to metroid, but with a guy dressed as a bat and armed with some nifty gadgets...
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I hear that comparison a lot and I really don't know how true that is, yeah you get new stuff to open up new areas but that's pretty standard video game stuff. Never felt much like Metroid to me.
Club 27 Goals
Metroid though is like, in space, and a FPS.
Batman is like, an actiony holy-shit-I'm-punching-this-guy-so-well-I'm-really-the-goddam-batman type of game.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

How dare you. It's a first person ADVENTURE! It's totally different and not like your dumb Halos! Evil or Very Mad
I like turtles.
Not even going into the fact that Metroid Prime and its sequels aren't typical First Person Shooters, not every Metroid game is even in first person perspective.
Club 27 Goals
I'd argue the first halo has more story in it than Metroid Prime, but then I'd probably get banned or something. It's quite the oppressive dictatorship we have here.

Metroid gets more point for pure exploration though.

I haven't played it in a while but yeah it probably does.

But man the old Prime v Halo wars were so beautifully dumb. I feel bad for anyone who missed them.
Indie Lover
asylum is like metroid in the sense that you have various very defined areas and that the gadgets you get open certain routes inside these areas...

and that you have a illusory feeling of open world game-play and non-linearity

If anybody's interested, the latest Humble Bundle is available.  It includes: Uplink, Darwinia, DEFCON, Multiwinia, and two prototype thingies.  Also, as usual, pay over the average ($3.83 at time of posting this), and you get extras.  In this bundle the extras are Crayon Physics Deluxe and Aquaria.

>including games that were already in previous bundles

c'mon now humble bundle guys, the previous one was less than a month ago, surely you could have waited a little longer to put some decent new indie games in.

Gonna have to pass on this one.
