man, the last thing i want to do is change my credit card number... does this affect my pay pal account too? cuz i don't want to make another pay pal acc...
i hope they give some thing as apology, like, who knows, a 50% discount in one of the new releases would be great...
it's not bad for me atm - means i have tons of time to work on some things i'd really like to work on. it does mean i'll have to get a job relatively soon though. definitely don't want to end up with no money.
My income is about 1/4th what it was 2 years ago. I need to figure something out real soon, because I'm basically using credit to get by.
how did that happen?[/quote]
I'm basically massively UNDERemployed atm. There simply aren't the opportunities present that there were before. When one arises, there are hundreds of extremely qualified applicants. It's to the point where employers start to look at things besides qualifications, since everyone has them, and start making hiring decision based on things that have nothing to do with the job, like: he goes to the same church as my mom, or she had cute shoes on during the interview. Even getting the work I have now where I make 1/4th of what I did before was hard to get, because they start to think that you are OVERqualified and won't be happy with the job. Hell, it's better than nothing! (barely). People who aren't directly affected by this economic / employment crisis really don't get it. They see the news anchors talk about it every day, but they might as well be talking about something happening on some other planet. People don't realize that this crap is happening to their next-door neighbors, they think it's happening to fictional people in some fictional place. That's why it's hard to get bills passed or issues voted on which help the 25% or so who are really hurting because they are the minority, and the majority either doesn't care, or doesn't get it, or both.
Pretty much everywhere is like that at the moment. When my wife was made redundant, and when we spoke with others who have been in the situation or recruited into those positions, there were even tales of sexism, ageism, and all sorts, because employers could choose who they wanted now. It's tough at the moment.
same here on brazil, everything is so oversaturated that is very dificult to get a good paying job, and that is why i am going the independent work route, trying to make something of my own, believe it or not, the odd of getting a better pay is higher than getting a job somewhere...
