I tend to agree. While I believe that the whole dashboard / instant update thing is a worthwhile step forward, the whole death thing has become a bit of a joke. Almost everybody knows somebody that it's happened to. What happens years from now when you get the retro urge to play something? It's not like the older, cartridge-based systems that'll probably (within reason) work indefinitely.
I wouldn't be half as annoyed if it was a case of the disc drive failing, I expect that to happen eventually. But the drive's fine. Even my Gamecube's still alive and kicking. What makes the red ring thing so shitty is that it's like a heating issue or something stupid that's totally inexcusable.
Damn it Nintendo make not stupid consoles so I can play good games on a machine that is literally invincible.
lol "You can send it in for repair, or you can buy a new one. You're probably better of buying a new one." - Microsoft tech support, their confidence knows no bounds.
For last quest from that lady named Irina in Wygol Village she asks you to go and kill the vampire Jiang Shi in the large cavern and then come back to her. I did, but she's still talking to me like it never happened. I've read through walkthroughs and other resources, and they say she is supposed to give me the winged boots. The vampire is clearly showing up in my enemies guide as defeated, yet she still says I need to go and defeat him. WTF? Has this happened to anyone else?
Some information here and here. They both basically say that you have to receive the quest first, then kill Jiang Shi to complete the quest. You may have already killed Jiang Shi, and then received the quest, so you may have to go back through it again.
I'm going to blame Sony for this, if they made non shit controllers and sold PS3s at a remotely reasonable price early on I'd have gotten one of those.
Yeah what the hell is up with the left analog stick on PS controllers? I've never understood how so many people can like that.
haha ikr. The model animations are also really weird looking, totally not zelda feeling at all. The game might be pretty cool, but it certainly looks like it'll be much more FF like than zelda.

That's because the trailer is all cinematic and no game. The few bits of gameplay that have been shown look pretty Zelda. The player's gonna look like an asshole though.
But then my avatar is a pony so maybe I don't get to comment on who is or is not an asshole!
Here's something fun to do. Go to a latin->english dictionary site and type the words in the glyph names to see what their names mean. For example, 'secare', the sword glyph, means 'cut' in latin. I actually looked up every single glyph, and about 90% of them came back with a translation. It's just something interesting/fun to do if you're bored. Oh - here's the latin->engish site I used: http://www.latin-dictionary.org/
PS - I'm still not sure what 'vol' and 'melio' mean, but I'm guessing they mean something like 'stronger' and 'strongest'.
There's a topic here dealing with the names. It mentions both of those. Apparently, they mean 'wish' (as in desire) and 'better' respectively.. The former can be seen in the word volition, and the latter can be seen in the word ameliorate.
