Thread title:
Oh look - Samus with black hair:

And yet she still looks good either way to me.
Nu dark Samus, eh?

The complete new design is very generic anime style, as everyone knows by now, so I don't like it too much.
they should just replace samus with amu and it would be perfect. woah, i just realized that amu is already in samus ... cool.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
You know what was really cool? Prime 1 Samus, she looked like a person. Too bad short haired cutscene Samus probably won't last long, she looks sort of like a person too. It was pretty cool when Samus wasn't anime character 327.

There is no such thing as not generic anime style at this point, it's all rather boring looking. :(
Oh well, anime look to go with anime dialogue I suppose.
I guess you don't know anything about Ghibli and Miyazaki then.
Konichi-what?
ANKOKU

I know of them, I can say that based on what I've seen the backgrounds and settings can be very nice but the characters tend to look out of place and uninteresting. The visual style just doesn't appeal to me and there is nothing in the universe that could make me want to wade through the sea of anime sperging to find out why I am apparently wrong and the enemy of all good things.
coral to complement blue
I don't see any "anime" in the new art style at all, but whatever. You guys at least agree that this is a huge improvement over the last two games' Samus, right?
I reckon short-hair Samus is the main protagonist. She's certainly the one we've seen most of so far.

Zero Suit Samus. The animeest thing.

I definitely agree upon the improvement.

yeah i don't really see the "anime" either. i guess to me anime is a particular style of 2d cartoon, which other m and zss look nothing like. i'd say you can definitely tell they were designed by the japanese, but there's little resemblance to anime if you ask me.

I guess that you hate Anime then, because Ghibli's movies are great, and their character design is above American's character design in every level in my opinion.

he does hate anime. that's his point.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely

Statements like this really bother me.

It's one thing to say Trigun is better than Batman: The Animated Series. It's an entirely different thing to say Japanese dude's stuff is better than EVERY AMERICAN THING EVER. That's just ig'nant.
I can care less about anime.

I'm talking about Ghibli and Miyazaki, not Trigun. And they are above any american classic animation studio, even Disney.

so you care about it a relatively decent amount?

It's called an analogy, since I have no idea who these people are.
Plus, there are few things better than Batman: The Animated series. The Brave and the Bold makes me wretch in comparison.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Brave and the Bold fucking owns, it's certainly no B:TAS but it's easily the best animated anything on tv since Justice League Unlimited. The art on that show rules so unbelievably hard.

Hate requires interest, I don't care about anime enough to expose myself to it to the point that I could really hate it. More of an intense indifference. I really just like needling people like noah here with their "Glorious Nippon's animes are superior to all you're silly Western cartoons in every way!" They are very passionate about this and it entertains me to no end.

It'd still be wrong provided we're talking about the first couple seasons of Batman, New Batman Adventures took a significant dive in terms of character design. Just like the change from Metroid Prime to Prime 2! Thanks Zero Suit Samus! goin full circle on dis bitch.

Sorry, I misunderstood your post (my english is very bad), besides, I was talking about one specific Anime studio, not EVERY Anime studio ever.

@Tomatobob: Again, I'm not talking about anime in general, I'm talking about Ghibli and Miyazaki, because they kick the ass of every american animation, period.

Ps- I'm not a BIG FAN of Anime, I have only watched Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop -besides Ghibli movies, of course-.
