agreed on jon. he's definitely dead, but with melisandre in town i don't think there's any way he's gone forever.
stannis i'm not so sure about. the only reason to think he might be alive is that they didn't actually show him die, so for sure that counts. but otherwise it totally seemed like he was dead. that was a fitting end for him.
I love how quickly things went south for him. Like at the end of episode 9 it looked like he had a decent shot at taking King's Landing. But then like immediately in episode 10 he loses absolutely everything.
I'm all for that. Everything is clearly converging towards the endgame. I'd ratger they go all out instead of having longer seasons with scenes of people going "wow, that epic dragon battle happening slightly off screen is pretty epic."
i'm super hyped. 14 more eps is enough for me, especially because there's usually a couple eps a season where not much seems to happen—my guess is that's because of the budget.
i'm actually rewatching the series now—just started season 2. i'd been reading up on wikis and realizing i really love the world of the show, so i ordered the box set of books as well. can't wait to dive in and get the full story.
as i'm watching i can't believe how much stuff i forgot, and also how many things make way more sense now. it really is tough to remember all the characters and their relationships, but i think i've got those down now. what's really hard is remembering who knows what information lol
I've watched seasons 1-4 4 times, and season 5 3 times. Haven't rewatched season 6 yet. There was a shit-ton of stuff in the the earlier seasons that I didn't pick up on the first time I watched. They just throw all these names of people and places around like crazy and if you're new to it all then you don't retain it because you don't know what they're talking about. The second time through I was like 'How did I miss THAT?'
i'm halfway through season 2 now, and i realized i completely forgot about harrenhal and all the scenes there, as well as much of the plot of the season. i think because i originally marathoned it super fast
so i just finished rewatching the entire series, and man i can't wait for season 7. i think my least favorite season is still 3, then 6. but i love them both anyway, and 6 really grew on me the second time around. the entire season is about religion, when you think about it, and it's really fascinating.
i also think season 5 is super underrated. it's so dark and tragic, i love it
I like that scene too. Varys is such a sharp tongued witty queen and it was nice to see him actually get told so harshly. Seeing him speechless was something that I never thought I would see.
:( Poor Olenna. I'm glad they didn't hang her naked from the ramparts though.
They only have like 10 episodes left to wrap up the entire series, so I'm thinking they're really going to have to pick up the pace a little like they did last night. Casterly Rock and Highgarden both fell in ten minutes worth of show. Normally either one of those would have been a full episode or even a season finale.
I'm getting more anxious that Daenerys is going to end up getting killed or worse - go mad like her father. She seems to have changed a little since they got to Dragonstone. Like when she got all paranoid about Varys and told him she would burn him alive.
