sorry for the confusion in the question.  I've heard of frozen scarabs, as a creature in metroid prime.  I dont know if this is a hoax or some sort, but I wanna know what it is, and if they are real, where to find them.  I tried scanning scarabs in phen. drifts, but they are just regular, well, scarabs.

Oh, those Scarabs.  No, there's no Ice version of them.  There's Ice Beetles, Ice Shriekbats, Ice Parasites, and Ice Burrowers (those last three are all one-time scans, by the way), but no Ice Scarabs.

okay thanks, because i have seen walkthroughs on gamefaqs that said that therre were frozen scarabs :D

Actually, I've seen that walkthrough too. As everone else has confirmed, though, there is only one kind of scarab in the game.

Actually, there are frozen scarabs. I think you find them in Ruined Courtyard Access, Phendrana. They're blue in color.

They scan as regular scarabs, though.

They scan as scarabs, but they are in fact frozen scarabs.
